New Year’s Eve ~ Waiting with Anticipation 12-31-2020

For many years in the African American communities, Watchnight services have been observed in most churches from ten o’clock PM until midnight. For some of the African Americans, New Year service was also called “Freedom’s Eve”.

Churches and homes were waiting for President Abraham Lincoln to announce that all slaves in the confederate states were declared free; this was called the Emancipation Proclamation. At the stroke of midnight, January 1, 1863, “freedom rang”.

Since this year will be quite different, most people will be celebrating New Year’s Eve in their homes due to the deadly Covid-19 pandemic virus that has affected the entire world.

I want to concentrate on “Freedom” and the “Midnight”.

The significance of Midnight:

The children of Israel were delivered out of bondage in Egypt, after the last plague which was at midnight (Exodus 12:29-42). Freedom (deliverance) came at Midnight.

It was midnight when Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God…. Not only were they delivered, but some people were saved through this powerful move of God (Acts 16:25-34). Freedom (deliverance) came at Midnight.

It was midnight 1863, when the slaves who had been forced with harsh labor, were set free.

Midnight is a symbol of change whether it is good or bad. Doomsday Clock at midnight- the idea began in 1947 to warn humanity of dangers of nuclear war. Midnight symbolizes the end of the world. Even though there will be mass destruction, God is the only One in total control, and the world will not come to an end until He has ordained that time to be.

Until then, we are waiting with anticipation for our Lord’s return. He who testifies these things says: Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Why do we want the Lord Jesus to come quickly? The only true freedom is in Christ Jesus (John 8:32, 36), which is spiritual. As long as we are in these flesh bodies, we are bound.

That is why the whole creation is groaning and waiting for Christ to return and take us out of this sinful environment that has all kinds of problems. Because the creation itself will also be delivered from the bondage of corruption into glorious liberty of the children of God (Romans 8:18-23).

Most of all, we will see our Lord Jesus face to face (1 Corinthians 13:12).

As the year of 2020 ends at the stroke of the clock at midnight, the change will bring in 2021.

The greatest change is when Jesus comes to take us to heaven to be with Him. Until that change comes, we should be watching and waiting with anticipation for His return. We are seeing the signs of the times (Luke 21:28).

As we watch and wait, we are called to work until our day is done. And, when our day is done, we will be changed and we will experience Ultimate Freedom.

How Bright are the Lights in Your House? 12-30-2020

You have seen examples of how the Christmas tree all lit up is symbolic of Jesus Christ, the Light of the world and how He left us to shine bright or illuminate like the tree. This week, I challenge you to truthfully acknowledge which house represents you.

And, on that note, as we about to leave the year 2020 and go into 2021, please do not make New Year’s resolutions that you are not able to keep. Example: If you are a child of God and you are still doing things that cause you not to be a light, ask the Lord to help you. Although none of us are perfect, the world is watching us. Therefore, we should not be a stumbling block to others.

What I resolve to do each year is to draw closer to God my Father; my sole desire is to please the Lord.

I purpose in my heart not to be conformed, or fashioned after this world, but I purpose in my heart to be transformed (change) by having a new mind set (moving from one level to a higher, more developed level of maturity) - (Romans 12:1-2).

That is not all! I purpose to continue to help others grow and learn what their gifts are, so they will fulfill their destiny. As we grow in this progressive process of spiritual maturity, we (our house/temple) will shine brighter.

Our houses (bodies) or temples are like the house sitting on a hill, where all who are near us can see.

The beautiful brightly shining building at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic is a good example of how we are to shine. Which building do you represent?

Again, please do not make traditional resolutions that you will not be able to keep. If you purpose in your heart to grow closer to God, Jesus will help you. The problem is most people who make resolutions do not keep them because they are doing it by tradition and Christ is not involved. Let Christ help and strengthen you to whatever you put your hands to for God’s glory (Philippians 4:13).

This has been a wonderful week of sharing messages about our experience at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Now I am waiting for the Lord to send me on a mission to the Dominican!

God Has Given Us Richly  All Things to Enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17) 12-29-2020

As I continue to share about my trip to Punta Cana in 2019, it is exciting to line up natural occurrences with the Word of God. History tells us that Punta Cana is a place where Christmas is celebrated for three months. Yet the islanders are festive people year round.

I did not know about the history until almost two years after the trip, but it was an enjoyable time and we just adapted to the surrounding. There were several things to do there, a playland for the kids, night life, gift shops, all types of food, music, and other kinds of entertainment. Fun was what it was, and whatever a person liked, there were accommodations.

Sports was one means of entertainment in Biblical times - Paul wrote about a runner and how he would receive a crown if he made it to the finishing line (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). Our spiritual life is like a sportsman running a race and reaching the finishing line by meeting the requirements. And if anyone competes in the athletes, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules (2 Timothy 2:5).

There were other kinds of clean entertainment/recreation in the Bible days. There is a time and purpose for everything under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1-6), as long as our time is used is used to please God.

I am going to share one of our fun adventures that we were blessed to do and connect it with the Word of God. At the bottom of the blog message of Burnett Ministries, there is an image of my friend, her son and me with the man on stilts, that was fun! God used others to bless me to go many places that were enjoyable.

Did I have the money to do all these wonderful things? No! But God used others who were not selfish. Paul told Timothy to charge those (born-again) who are rich in this world, not to be high-minded, not to trust in uncertain riches.

Bless others with some of that money that God has allowed them to have and He has given them all things to richly enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). I do not have what some of the rich have, but I am being blessed to enjoy much, Praise God!

Paul told Timothy to warn the rich that they must be careful not to let money become their god, because the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:9-10).

Many people forget that it is God who allowed them to get all those riches (Deuteronomy 6:10-12). That is why God told them not to forget; it is easy to lose focus, thinking about all those dollar bills. Jesus said: Do not store up treasures on earth…. but store up your treasures in heaven… for where your treasure is, there is where your heart will be also (Matthew 6:19-21).

Did we have fun? Of course, we did!

Was God pleased? Yes He was!

Were our lights still shining during the vacation? Definitely so!

How was that? The door of opportunity opened to share the Word of God (Matthew 28:18-19) and we were not ashamed (Romans 1:16). Punta Cana was the part of our world at that time.

What are you doing in your part of the world? If you are a child of God, you have been commissioned by Jesus Christ to carry His gospel to the ends of the earth, wherever that may be. This is called “The Great Commission”

The Flight 12-28-2020

I have been writing for many years and I love using this God-given ability to bless others. In fact, creative and innovative writing is delightful; even more so when the Word of God goes hand in hand with whatever I write.

When we traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2019, we lodged at the Nickelodeon Resort. I did not know some of the pictures that were taken would be used as a part of a few messages.

Today’s message will be about an airplane. This was my first flight since we went to Europe in 2002, and flying was not a favorite means of travel for me. Most people know me for driving to and from many cities and states.

This will not be the last message about Punta Cana, but I feel it is the appropriate time for this message. When I said the Word of God goes hand in hand with my messages, I want to bring something to your attention. I see many posts when someone’s loved one transitions from this earthly life that say, so and so got his or her wings.

There is not one place in the Word of God that alludes to somebody getting their wings. This is what the Word says about somebody who dies or passes. The example of the rich man and Lazarus is not a parable because it gives names, therefore this is an actual occurrence: And it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom (Luke 16:22).

Angels have wings (Isaiah 6:2), but humans do not have wings, and nobody becomes an angel after they reach heaven. The only time humans are referred to as angel, is when Jesus told John to write to the angel of the church, who is the pastor or messenger (Revelation 2:1; 2:8; 2:12; 2:18; 3:1; 3:7; 3:14).

I will share an experience at the Punta Cana airport. When I boarded the plane, I said: “This plane smells like it is new”. The pilot said: “This is the first flight” and the two attendants were shaking their heads with a no. I said: “It does not matter I have prayed”.

The pilot was teasing, but I must be honest and say that the enemy used the innocent pilot to put fear in me. Suppose something would have gone wrong during the flight. Regardless of when, where, or how we leave this earth, we will be carried by the angels into the presence of the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

I was blessed to travel safely because my time was not up, and if it were, I would have been ready to meet the Lord. In fact, God gave me a vision of my sister’s entrance because she left us so suddenly that it really grieved me sorely.

So, our loving, merciful and gracious Father gave me a vision of her entering into His presence. I saw her arms extended (reaching out for Him) in such a glorious way that it amazed me. I was comforted, and the grief was longer there. Every time I think of my sister’s entrance into His presence, it gives me excitement, assurance, and comfort. The angels carried her into His presence.

I am going to compare the angels’ wings with an airplane’s wings. The wings are a critical part of airplanes because they are used for lifting, turning, landing, and controlling the airplane! Without wings, airplanes simply could not fly. This curve makes air on top of the wing move faster than air on bottom, using Bernoulli’s principle to push the airplane into the air.

It is amazing to know how God uses people to create whatever is needed for us in this earthly realm. It is even more amazing to compare the natural with the supernatural. For instance, when Jesus taught, He used a natural situation that people could identify with, to bring about a spiritual meaning.

This is my point; the airplane is a physical object with wings that is used to carry/transport people globally to their destination and that is great. Yet, it cannot be compared with God’s angels who carry/transport His children through space into the presence of the Lord God Almighty.

The Dolphin and its Symbolism 12-27-2020

As I was lying in the bed last night, the question in my mind was, what can I write for a  Sunday message?

When we were in Punta Cana in 2019, many pictures were taken. I never thought at that time, some of the pictures would be used to glorify God.

The picture of the dolphin came to my mind, so I got up and looked up some information about the dolphin. I gleaned some information that I felt would bless the readers.

Although the information I found about the dolphin and its meaning came from a secular and what I consider a spiritual perspective, my message is from how I interpreted this spiritually. I want to interject this; when I went to secular movies, I always tried to something in the movie pertaining to God; it is the same with this message, since it was the Spirit of God who prompted me to write this.

The information is from Love Totem:

The dolphin as a spiritual animal is a representation of balance and harmony because they are in tune with their instincts and very intelligent. Dolphins also symbolize resurrection and protection. They have a playful nature, which reminds us to approach life with a sense of joy and humor. People identifying with the dolphin as a spirit animal are normally gentle, peaceful and possess inner strength.

I am going to use key words that will sharpen your spiritual senses from God’s perspective.

Since God has made us intelligent children and we are His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), we should be in tune with the Spirit of God.

Symbols of cooperation – Dolphins normally live in cooperative social groups and the healthy adult dolphins work to feed and protect the injured ones.

Mature Christians help to feed the Word to God’s children who have been, offended and hurt by others, and to help them grow into maturity (1 Peter 5:2).

Inner strength – The dolphins are fearless and strong when they are threatened by orcas or sharks.

The children of God are fearless and strong (2 Timothy 1:7), and we know how to withstand the fierce enemy when he throws those fiery darts at us (Ephesians 6:11-17).

Joy and playfulness – People are drawn to the dolphin because of playful nature.

What I gathered from this is, the children of God should be friendly, have a nice countenance, because the Word of God says a man must be friendly to have friends (Proverbs 18:24) and still enjoy life in a godly manner.

Protection – Sailors have always believed that dolphins are a sign of good luck. Since Our Father is not a god of luck, He is the God of blessings. The dolphin does chase away sharks and help drowning people in the water.

We should always be protective of our brothers and sisters and ward off the enemy when they are drowning in sin.

The ones who are in the prophetic office are anointed and appointed to warn, correct, and protect the children of God, which brings about encouragement because the word from the prophet will help the person to get on track (Ephesians 4:11).

All of us are called to help each other; two are better than one, and we go after the children of God who have wandered off and put themselves in harms-way of the enemy (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Harmony and peace – Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brothers and sisters to be together in unity (Psalm 133). Being in harmony with one another gives peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Long Lasting Memories 12-26-2019

As I reflect back on one of the most lasting and fun trips, pictures help me remember the places the Lord allowed me to go to with friends. 2019 was a great year for me to travel out of the country a couple of times, and I am grateful.

Today, as I look back, all thanks, praises, glory, and honor belong to my Father. Living on a fixed/limited income has also been an awesome blessing. As I continued to trust the Lord God, He opened doors that no man could open, although He did use people.

This is how God does when it comes to those who are limited with certain resources; God wants us to trust Him so that He gets the glory. It is more difficult for those who have more or much, to depend on God. Riches or wealth that people obtain are uncertain; here today and gone today, but God’s riches never run out.

God is the source for everything we need. Why? Because He owns everything! Yet God has given some people more resources so they can be a blessing to His children.

Once I understood how to trust God, it became easy to lean on Him and He proved Himself to me over and over again.

I am also grateful for everyone the Lord put in my path to be a blessing to me, and I want to thank you again for allowing the Lord to use you to bless me.

Merry Christmas 12-25-2020

Oh, what a wonderful day to celebrate, observe and reverence Jesus Christ's birth.

Let's remember all the prophesies that were fulfilled about His birth, and His death.

Let’s remember that the main celebration of Christmas should be focused on Christ. Let us remember that without Christ, there would be no Christmas.

Let’s remember in all the gift giving, He came to give the greatest gift of all, and that is Salvation.

As you celebrate Christmas, share your love with whomever you come in contact with.

May your day be “Joyful” and “Bright” as you shine for Jesus Christ.

Christmas Eve 12-24-2020

Greetings on this wonderful day before Christmas!

Yesterday, I said a picture is worth a thousand words, I have some wonderful memories of 2019 when we were at the Nickelodeon Resort in Punta, Cana Dominican Republic.

I am putting this this place on my wish list to return in the future.

These two pictures are worth a thousand words!!!

Although I am not there, I am sending a “Hola” (hello) from the Nickelodeon!

Holiday Greetings! 12-23-2020

As we prepare for the upcoming Holiday, there is so much to be thankful for. When we say “Happy Holidays” or “Merry Christmas” which means to be cheerful. “Merry Christmas” should be said with these thoughts in mind: To have food on our tables, clothes on our backs and a roof over our heads, is certainly enough to be cheerful about.

That is the reason to call our God, Jehovah Jireh, because He provides all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Some people may be sad about not being with family this Christmas, let’s be glad that we have means of communicating with each other. Jehovah Jireh, God our Supplier gave men the technology for us to communicate by way of the internet, through the phone lines, and so on.

As I take a break from the regular messages, there will be short reflections and photos of different places the Lord has allowed to me to travel to. It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and I believe it.

When I look at pictures, they bring wonderfully memories that make me “merry”. Remember this: “A merry heart is good like medicine, but a broken (sad) spirit dries the bones (Proverbs 17:22). A broken spirit is a killer!

If you want to have a “Merry Christmas”, even though there are restrictions of not being with family; remember all “The Good Times” the Lord blessed you to be with family and friends.

Beautiful Lights - Shining Bright 12-22-2020

It is so sad to see people who profess to be born-again posting something/anything pertaining to Santa Claus and Merry Xmas on their Facebook page. Yet they say they love the Lord. I cannot see for the life of me why this is happening. I have written about taking Jesus Christ out of Christmas by using Xmas, and there was a message about Santa Claus being symbolic of Satan.

Apparently those who are not taking heed to the messages do not love the Lord as they say they do. How can anyone eat at the devil’s table and the Lord’s table? This is impossible! God will not tolerate idol worship (1 Corinthians 10:21-22). This is so serious that I am putting emphasis on it again because I love you and want to see you come out of that kind of mindset.

Whatever you post on Facebook shows who you really are; and that is not judging anybody. It is a fact.

Today, I want to concentrate on the Christmas tree and share how out of balance I was years ago, when it came to what the tree meant.

I was in a movement that used a scripture in Jeremiah pertaining to the Christmas tree and its meaning. I was so caught up in that erroneous belief that I did not want to put a tree up, because I thought it was evil; that God’s children were worshipping the tree as an idol.

This is some history on the Christmas tree in Jeremiah 10:1-5, a person would chop down a tree, give the wood to a craftsman who fashioned [carved] it to the desired shape. This “god” was then covered with silver and gold and fastened to a base so that it would not totter [wobble].

Once the god was made by man it had to be carried to its destination. It was lifeless as a scarecrow in a melon patch. Certainly, such a “god’ could not speak or impart knowledge to its followers. So, God exhorted His people not to fear those false idols. Excerpts from Bible.org.

A few days ago, I felt like it would be appropriate to share what I feel about the Christmas tree, since I have been set free from that erroneous belief. Many of my messages are to let people know I have been there and done that. Therefore, when we know/learn better, we do better.

I am getting to what I feel is so awesome about this tree and at this time of year that we are celebrating the birth of our Savior. I do not believe He was born at Christmas time, but regardless of when my Jesus was born, it is the celebration of and reverencing Him that is most important.

This is the first year that I saw how the Christmas tree can be so meaningful. Jesus Christ came into a world that was dark; He was the light that was shining in darkness, but the world did not understand (John 1:5).

Later, when Jesus Christ was with His disciples; He told them He was the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness (John 8:12), and God/Jesus Christ is light and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). This connects with Psalm 119:105, which says: Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Who is the Word? The Word is Jesus Christ (John 1:1).

Jesus said as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world (John 9:5); He told His disciples and it was also meant for us: You are the light of the world; let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify Your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-6). Jesus knew He was not going to stay in this world, so Jesus Christ told them that they were going to be the lights of the world.

Back to the tree and its relevance: First of all, the Christmas tree is the Evergreen that never fades, which is symbolic of eternal life that will never end.

So, if you want to put up a tree and decorate it with all those beautiful ornaments and lights, go for it. The more lights, the better. Let the glowing lights from the Christmas tree represent our Savior. Since we are the lights, let’s shine bright for King Jesus!

Attacks from the Devil 12-21-2020

Yesterday I shared a message about an assignment that the Lord sent us on, to a place I had never been before. I also told you about two obstacles that were put in our way to stop us from fulfilling the assignment. All praises, honor, and glory to God for giving me those to assist me in various aspects of the ministry, especially as I travel on assignments. Jesus sent the disciples out two by two (Luke 10:1).

For those who were encouraged by the message to help boost your faith, please know this: Not only will the devil try to hinder or stop you from fulfilling your assignment; he will come at you after the mission has be accomplished. This happened to me many times when the Spirit prompted me do to whatever He would use me to do.

Example: Sometimes while writing messages, the devil would cause me to lose an entire message. That can be discouraging. But I did not give in to what the devil was doing against me. The Holy Spirit would give me a recall of the message. It caused more work, but I also knew somebody was going to be blessed if the devil went that far to stop me.

The good thing is, I recognized it was coming from the devil. Many times, there were struggles to get the blog posted on the website builder. Whatever the devil can do to come against you and me, he will.

Every now and then, after a message I would be challenged, but the Word of God was there to back me up.

That is why studying is necessary, even with that being said I am not always correct. But I do put a lot of time in searching the scriptures, the history, the culture, and the language of the people.

The Word of God means so much to me that when I read silly, erroneous posts from some people who profess to be born-again, it troubles my spirit. There are times I will correct what is being posted.

Back to yesterday and how the devil was so upset because God exposed what he had done the day before, that he attempted to discourage me and make me think that the mission we went on did not prosper.

I also know that somebody was and probably still is upset, because the Lord sent me to expose their evil. These people had been sweeping dirt under the carpet for years, and the dirt under the carpet is surfacing. The Word of God says: Be sure your sins will find you out (Numbers 32:23).

As I am writing, there is a recall about a scripture that was one of my daily readings prior to the trip: No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rise against you shall be condemned… (Isaiah 54:17). The bottom line is, somebody was upset, and words were sent out against me. That is why the Lord put the scripture for me to read; He is amazing!

I have been sent many other places to expose, warn and correct; was in and out quick because of unforeseen danger, but the Lord kept me. The weapons certainly were formed, but they did not prosper.

I just want you to know that no matter what the devil does against you, keep walking by faith and be obedient to what you are told to do. When you see WALK by Faith, that means action.

Be encouraged and keep on "Walking up the King’s Highway."

How Big is Your Faith? 12-20-2020

During my walk with the Lord, there have been many leaps of faith that I took. It was due to the Spirit rising up in me to move forward. There is no way possible I could have done it on my own, nor do I take credit for this powerful faith that was instilled in me.

Being obedient to His Voice, caused me to have many testimonies to encourage others for their faith to be built and for God to be to be glorified in all of our lives.

Recently, Susan and I planned to visit her mother, when we felt right the time was right to travel.

Once we arrived at her mother’s home, we had a blessed time of fellowship as usual, we watched Christian TV, and we discussed certain things in the Bible. Later on, the additional blessing came. Susan’s brother, sister-in-law and their son from Maryland ended up at the mother’s home. This was not planned by us; it was God-ordained!

As a matter of fact, Susan’s family from Maryland had no idea we would be in Weldon. It was such a blessing to know how God had orchestrated and set this trip up for all of us to be together in the same place. We had a wonderful time of fellowship and prayer.

I had planned to post this message yesterday to let the readers know how I was taking a step of faith to travel on yesterday. I had this feeling for a couple of weeks that I was supposed to take the trip.

Two things occurred prior to the trip: Number 1 - When I tried to post the message, the internet was down. It took the technician about forty minutes to correct the problem, therefore, it was too late to post the message. But I was determined to take the trip despite the obstacle.

Obstacle number 2 - We left a little later than planned because something else came up, but we were determined to take the trip. There are times when the Lord will use obstacles to stop us, and that is good. On the other hand, obstacles can come from the devil to stop us from fulfilling a mission that was ordained by God.

Going to a place I had never been before was like going into the unknown; not knowing what we were going to face once we arrived at the destined place. That really took a step of faith.

Number One - I was not alone; God is with me wherever I go, I had no fear, because I am strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9).

Number Two – God also has given me some traveling partners, and one of the sisters (Susan) went on the road trip with me yesterday. For years I traveled back and forth up north regularly, every now and then, someone would ride with me. It was Christ who gave me the strength to drive almost eight hours, one way, and all those years I never ran into a problem while driving, even when it rained or snowed during my travels.

This is the question for my brothers and sisters. How big is your faith? I am not talking about crazy faith, or presumptuous faith. I am talking about faith that is given to you by the Spirit of God when you believe God has spoken to you like He did Abraham.

Are you willing to take a step of faith even if it seems to be risky? Are you willing to take a step of faith even though it seems like all odds are against you? Well, Abraham did! God told Abraham to go and He would show him the place (Genesis 12:1, 4-5). So, Abraham and his family started walking by faith.

If you feel you have heard from God as to specific directions/instructions on what to do, or where to go, do not hesitate to take that step of faith. Whatever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:23). Abraham believed God and it was counted as righteousness (Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3).

By the way, our mission was accomplished!! And our joy was full because we knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had ordained the trip.

LOVE is the Greatest of All! “An Hour of Bible Sharing” with Betty 12-18-2020

It has been a while since I posted a message about our Bible sharing. We have finished the three sets of gifts:

The Five-Fold Ministry offices given by Christ (Ephesians 4:11); the Motivational gifts given by God, the Father (Romans 12:6-6). We just finished 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, the gifts given by the Spirit of God (He is also called the Holy Spirit).

The Spirit of God spoke to me the latter part of 2019 and told me to start “An Hour of Bible Sharing” with Betty in January 2020, and near the last of that month the class began. Although most of us have been born-again for quite a few years, I felt prompted to start off with the basics of our foundation in Christ (Hebrews 5:12-14).

Everybody agreed about starting off with the basics, praise God. Some found out that steps were skipped and when that happens, something is missing, and our walk is not as effective or successful as it should be. Also, our walk with Christ is a daily process of sanctification (spiritual growth), no hop, skip and jump.

As we approach the end of 2020, the ministry reached its desired results because God Did It! Some came and some went; it is God who adds. Many of Jesus’ followers left Him (John 6:66).

Back to the gifts and where we are at this point:

Several weeks ago, the Spirit showed me something about 1 Corinthians, chapters 12, 13 and 14, that I had not seen before. He showed me that chapter 12 and 14 were two pieces of bread and chapter 13 was the meat (substance/nutrient) in between the two pieces of bread, and the slices of bread would not be any good without the meat in between. The meat is LOVE, and everything else hinges on it. In other words, whatever we do is to be done in Love.

It was amazing to see how the Spirit revealed to Paul to put LOVE in the middle of the gifts in 1 Corinthians, chapters 12 and 14; Paul wrote to the church about being out of order in abusing tongues, the most misused gift of all. Why is tongues so misused? It draws attention to the person instead of the church being edified and God being glorified. Some give the appearance of being more spiritual because they speak in tongues; this is silly and babyish.

Also, there is no anointing when the use of the gifts is not being operated in love. So, Paul told them what agape love is in chapter 13 meant. The church of Corinth was gifted, but because they were babies and had not grown to maturity, Paul called them carnal because they were still operating in the flesh (1 Corinthians 3:1-15).

A couple of things to point out – Paul ended 1 Corinthians 12, reiterating some gifts and then he closed with verse 31, saying: I will show you a more excellent way. What does more excellent mean? Paul went right into 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 talking about Love. The More Excellent way is LOVE.

Without Love, none of the gifts or anything else we do matter. It is like a a sounding brass or a tinkling symbol.  This means they are loud, and nobody is benefited; the focus is on the loud music rather than God being glorified. The attention is never to be drawn to anything or anybody.

Paul even wrote about them being childish and he used himself as an example – When he was a child (immature/baby), he spoke like a child, understood, and thought as a child. But when he became a man (a mature brother), he put away childish things. Prayerfully this message will show you what level of maturity you are on.

Back to the vision that was given to me for 2020 - I did not know when the Spirit showed me how to line these chapters and topics up, that there would be a connection between the chapters. My 2020 vision may not have been clear to me at the time it was revealed to me, but by me being obedient the vision was made plain and clear, no blurred vision. By faith, my vision spoke for itself.

For your information- The more I study and search out scriptures, the more I am seeing how they connect. In other words, there is no disconnect when it comes to God’s Word.

From Slavery to Freedom ~ Paul’s Letter to Philemon 12-17-2020

Some history will help the readers to understand more clearly what is taking place between Paul, Onesimus and Philemon. This letter is Paul’s personal appeal to Philemon, a wealthy Christian slave-owner.

Slavery was an accepted economic and social reality in the Roman world. A slave was his master’s property, without rights. Under Roman law, run-away slaves could be severely punished and even condemned to death. Paul’s primary goal was to see Philemon fully embrace the fugitive Onesimus as a brother in Christ. [NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible]

Paul sent a salutation to Philemon commending him for his love and his faith. He expressed joy about Philemon’s ministry and encouraged him to continue.

Paul’s plea to Philemon on behalf of Onesimus

I appeal to you for my son Onesimus whom I have begotten while in my chains (Paul witnessed to Onesimus and he received Christ as his Savior), who once was unprofitable to you, but now is profitable to both you and me.

Why did Onesimus become profitable to Paul and Philemon? He could carry the gospel of Jesus Christ – Onesimus was helping to establish God’s Kingdom.

I am sending him back to you, therefore receive him, that is my own heart, whom I wished to keep with me that on your behalf he might minister to me in my chains for the gospel. Paul wanted this appeal to Philemon to be voluntary and not by compulsion.

For perhaps he departed for this while for this purpose that you might receive him forever, (they would not only be brothers in Christ while on this earth, but they would be brothers throughout eternity), no longer as a slave, but more than a slave - a beloved brother, especially to me but how much more to you in the flesh and in the Lord.

Challenge: Put yourself in Philemon’s shoes as a slave-owner and you were asked to take a run-away slave back, and to treat him as if nothing happened. The best answer for me is, I do not know what would happen, but with the help of the Lord I will do what is right.

Paul continued with his letter: If then you count me as a partner, receive him as you would me. But if he has wronged you or owes you anything, put it on my account. Having confidence in your obedience, I write to you knowing that you will do more than I say.

Question: Are you willing to pay a debt for someone who does not deserve it? Jesus paid the debt for us and we did not deserve it.

Paul’s Christlike character

When Paul made the appeal to Philemon, he exemplified Christ-like character by being willing to pay the run-away slave’s debt. We were enslaved to sin and Jesus Christ paid the debt for our freedom. Whom the Son makes free is free indeed (John 8:36).

Can you say? “I am free, praise the Lord I’m free. No longer bound, no more chains holding me. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah I’m free”

The Book of Titus (Overview) 12-16-2020

Paul’s letter to Titus and Philemon were prior to his letter to Timothy, being that the last letter to Timothy was nearing the end of Paul’s life.

Titus and Timothy experienced similar situations; although they pastored in different cities the influence of false teachers was the same. It is the same way today, regardless of how many churches I have been affiliated with, that same spirit is prevalent in the churches.

Titus and Timothy were also similar in that both were young pastors and Paul wrote to Titus about the qualifications of bishops/elders, that they were not to be self-willed, …. but just and holy… holding fast the faithful Word as he had been taught that he may be able by sound doctrine both exhort and convict those who contradict.

Not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth…… They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. Sound doctrine is important, that is why God’s children should be good students of His Word.

There were Jews teaching things that should not be taught, and they were doing it for dishonest gain. Titus was told that they were to rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in the faith.

No matter what the legalists say and do, Titus is to continue the healthy teaching of the gospel. In contrast to the disobedient and detestable lives of the false teachers, Paul exhorts Christians of various ages and classes to practice good deeds.

These are the qualities of a sound church - Footnotes from NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible:

Elders: This exhortation applies to the older men of the church and not particularly to the official elders (five-fold ministry). They are to exhibit special qualities of Christian living consistent with age and experience. This is what the Word of God say, not Betty's words.

How in the world can a young inexperienced baby teach or lead without being taught or without having experience? Something is definitely wrong with this picture. How is a church going to function effectively without the older people? Some may say we need some young blood, and that is true when the old blood is there to groom, mentor and train the young bloods.

Older women: They are to assume the responsibilities of their new positions in the gospel (ministry in the church). These include providing proper example for the young women and teaching them Christian character and domestic responsibilities, lest they bring disgrace on the faith by abusing their new-found freedom. Somebody needs to go back and read the Word and see what God’s rules are.

Although I am writing what the comments are, they line up with the scriptures and that is what makes all the difference.

Titus was a young leader, and Paul encourages Titus to show himself to be a pattern of good works. If you really understand the Word of God, you will understand that Paul would never appoint someone into ministry without them being trained. Paul wrote that a bishop should not be a novice [a baby Christian] (1 Timothy 3:6), along with other characteristics.

I do a lot of personal study, but I also read what some others (not everybody or anybody) are saying, and if what they are saying lines up with what I believe the Word is saying, I acknowledge these seasoned and balanced people of God.

Paul wanted Titus to remind the people about living holy, not to mistreat the unsaved or look down on them, for they/we too have been lost. We are to remember God’s loving grace and mercy toward us, which should move us to be loving and merciful to others.

Paul’s Valedictory! ~ Farewell (2 Timothy 4:6-18) 12-15-2020

Paul’s life was about to come to an end: For I am already being poured out as a drink offering and the time of my departure has come. There are two things I want to touch on:

Drink offering from John MacArthur’s footnotes: In the Old Testament sacrificial system, this was the final offering that followed the burnt and grain prescribed for the people of Israel. Paul saw his coming death as the final offering to God in a life that already been full of sacrifices to Him. Question? Can you honestly say your life has been full of sacrifices to God? (Romans 12:1-2).

The other thing I want to point out is, Paul knew his life was coming to an end. I believe God prepares all of His children to meet Him when the time of their earthly departure is at hand.

Paul said with all assurance that I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Another question: Can you truthfully say that you have fought a good fight; that you kept on pushing through the struggles of persecution, being ostracized, called everything but a child of God; even being called a devil?

Did you run the race well, by going according to the rules of the Word of God, or did you cheat yourself out of the blessing you could have been to others for God to be glorified, or did you disregard the rules and barely made it to the finish line for whatever your selfish reason may have been?

These verses are used sometimes times at funerals, and many times they are not true because the person’s lifestyle did not line up with the scriptures. This is another reason the children of God should study the scriptures because the Word of God determines what is true.

Every child of God will receive a crown of righteousness because we were made righteous through Christ sacrificing His life for us. However, there is a difference when it comes to rewards of a good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21, 23), which are given according to our works [this is expected after we are born-again].

In these final verses, Paul tells Timothy about those who harmed him and those who supported his ministry. Demas deserted Paul because he loved the present world.

There have been several in my life who said: “When I grow up, I want to be like you”. When they saw the price there is to be paid, they were not willing to continue by pressing forward despite the cost. “Selling out” is the cost to follow Christ (Matthew 16:24-26, Galatians 2:20).

Alexander the coppersmith did Paul much harm, but Paul said the Lord would repay him (Romans 12:17-21). Paul warned others to beware of Alexander, for he strongly opposed their message. Paul said: At my defense no one came to stand by me, but all of them deserted me.

May it not be charged against them. But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and all the Gentiles might hear it.

Two things to take notice of: Paul said the same thing Jesus and Stephen said at the end of their lives; the difference was Jesus was crucified [forgive them for they know not what they do- Luke 23:34]. And all the disciples deserted Him (Mark 14:50). Stephen was stoned to death [And he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, Lord lay not this sin to their charge – Acts 7:60].

If God is for us who can be against us? (Romans 8:31) Stand strong and firm brothers and sisters! Even if it cost us our very lives; we will be in the presence of the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8), which is far better (Philippians 1:23).

I will not leave out those who supported Paul; their names are found in 2 Timothy 4:19-21, and their names are written in the Lamb's book of life (Revelation 21:27).

Dearly beloved, this is Paul’s grand finale: The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom. Glory Hallelujah!!!

Paul’s Final Encouragement to Timothy (2 Timothy, Chapters 3:9-17; 4:1-5) 12-14-2020

Yesterday, at the end of the message, I rested my case because there was not enough space to continue. I wrote about Eve being the weaker vessel and how she was deceived by Satan and how women can be deceived by what comes through their ears.

Men can also be deceived, by what they see. Paul was putting emphasis on what was going on with false teachers and how women were more gullible to be deceived by their charming fables.

This is an example of men being weak by what they see: David looked on Bathsheba and she was beautiful to look at; he lusted after her and carried out the act of committing adultery (2 Samuel 11:1-4).

Joseph fled when Potiphar’s wife tried to lure him to have sex with her (Genesis 39:6-13). When women wear skintight, short clothes and their cleavage is revealed, they are opening up a can of worms. This will not only cause some men to turn their heads, but some men will look with lust- this person is committing adultery in his heart (Matthew 5:27-28).

When it comes to women being the weaker vessel, since I am one of them, in my weakness, I find strength through the power of the Holy Spirit and so can you. Women of God: We can do all things through Christ who gives us the strength (Philippians 4:13).

As I bring the letters of Paul to Timothy to a conclusion, he told Timothy how the false prophets will progress no further and that their folly will be made known to all….and Paul continued with: But you have carefully followed my teaching, my manner of life…. but evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

But you must continue in the things you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them. Timothy was encouraged to stand firm on what he had learned regardless of all the false teachings and persecutions.

He could hold to the truth of God’s Word that: All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for reproof, for correction and training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete for every good work. What does this mean?

Look at the word reproof. It means to convince with solid, compelling evidence, especially to expose (prove wrong). We should handle the Word of God with such precision that no one will be able question it. My brothers and sisters, I am urging you to hold fast to the truth, because there are so many untruths.

Paul told Timothy: Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires; because they have itching ears, they will heap up to themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables [a false account yet posing to be truth].

Take heed! I have experienced this, and it is still happening. Others as well as I, are teaching and preaching sound doctrine, but many want to hear what is pleasing to their ears. To all my fellow laborers of the gospel, keep doing as Paul told Timothy. There is a great reward for sticking to the truth, regardless if it is not being received. Let’s hold on a little while longer until Jesus says “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21, 23).

Be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist. Notice that Paul did not call Timothy an evangelist - he said do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Since Timothy was a pastor, the evangelist work I believe Paul was talking about was during the end of the church service, the message could have been so convincing that it compelled those who would be saved to come to the altar and receive Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Also, any of the five-fold ministry offices as well as all the children of God are commissioned to evangelize wherever they may be. Example of a pastor: He could be in a restaurant and the door of opportunity opens to witness, and so on.

The Last Days, Perilous Times (2 Timothy, Chapter 3) 12-13-2020

It is without a doubt that we are living in the last days, and as time goes on, it gets worse. Be mindful, that those who live godly will suffer persecution, but an uncompromising life will bring a greater reward in heaven (Matthew 5:11-12). Paul was telling Timothy and us, about what will happen, especially to those who are “Sold Out”.

However, the other end of the spectrum is like this: For men will be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful ….. having a form of godliness but deny the power; from such turn away, because they are dangerous!

These type of people creep into the houses of silly women; they use their charm and charisma as a way of influencing these gullible women. Why do you think the Word said silly women? I am a female myself and even with that being so, I agree with the whole counsel of God.

It is certainly known that Eve was the weaker vessel (1 Peter 3:7), and she was deceived by Satan, Adam was not deceived (1 Timothy 2:14). I come in contact with many women who go along with whatever they hear.

They are fooled by people who use their charming lies just like Satan did used his lies (John 8:44). Since women are more emotional than men, it is easier to charm and deceive them. Whatever tickles their ears is what they are moved by.

Paul exhorted Timothy to continue in the gospel in the face of great increase of evil. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth; men of corrupt minds disapproved concerning the faith. [Sooner or later, it will be clear that these false teachers are lost fools] – John McArthur footnotes.

The false teachers were compared to Jannes and Jambres, Egyptian magicians who opposed Moses because of their base and perverted minds (Exodus, chapter 7) - NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible.

This is also what is being proven in this day and time. Many so-called evangelicals (preachers) who have large ministries and are known globally, are prophesying lies, saying that God said this, and God said that. And they are being exposed just as Jannes and Jambres were exposed. They used their power of influence, but God showed them He was and is the All-Powerful One.

These religious impostors are steadily on the rise, and the demonic influence is increasing. All the dangerous movements of the false teachers will continue to increase until Christ returns.

This is an example of a false teacher or false prophet: A renown preacher led an impassioned prayer service for the president’s reelection: “I hear victory from heaven.” Remember how the Word of God says if a prophet speaks and say that “God said this,” and it does not come to pass the person is a false prophet/tess (Jeremiah 14:14-15).

Another time, while praying, the same person called angels from Africa and South America to bring the president victory. By now, you may know who I am talking about. What I am writing is not about politics; it is about somebody prophesying lies.

The lie was this: God has not given us authority over angels. He has given His angels charge over us (Psalm 91:11). Example: A babysitter is there to watch over and protect the baby. Therefore, the baby cannot command the babysitter to do anything, because the babysitter is in charge of the baby.

Many false prophets and teachers are out to deceive you. If you do not study the Word of God, you will not know the difference in what is true and what is false. Caution! Women are not the only ones who are weak; didn’t Eve give Adam the forbidden fruit? (Genesis 3:6) He knew what God had told him. I rest my case….

Paul’s Instuctions to Timothy  (2 Timothy, Chapters 1-2) 12-12-2020

Paul gave Timothy, his son in the ministry encouragement:

He prayed for Timothy day and night. Paul reminded Timothy of the genuine his faith that his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice had. He told Timothy to stir up the gift that was in him. NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible: To make full use of his gift which was written for us to do also.

Timothy was a young pastor and he felt threatened because of false teachers. I am paraphrasing what some scholars interpreted the meaning of this scripture. Of course, I agree, because I too can identify with being fearful or intimidated by certain people in the ministry.

Paul told Timothy to endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ – we’re in the army now and our battle is against evil forces. Timothy was in a battle; he was surrounded by false teachers.

Paul told Timothy he was not ashamed of the gospel, and I say that no child of God should be ashamed to spread the Word of God. Even through various challenges, with the assurance of the call that God had on his life, Paul said:

For this reason, I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him against that Day.

Paul encouraged Timothy and us that regardless of what we go through for the sake of the gospel, even if we face death, Christ will keep us.

Paul continued with his encouragement to Timothy to endure hardness as a good soldier of Christ.  [Just as a soldier is completely severed from the normal affairs of civilian life, so must a good soldier of Jesus Christ refuse to allow the things of the world distract him]. Footnotes from John McArthur Study Bible.

I do not remember seeing this; but I have said for many years that a pastor should not be involved in politics; thank you Lord for confirmation. A pastor should devote his time to the flock God has appointed him to. When they say religion and politics do not mix, I agree that Christianity and politics do not mix. One’s beliefs will be compromised.

In writing to Timothy who was a young pastor, Paul also used the analogy of running a race. He used the analogy when he wrote to the church at Corinth. A marathon runner had to to be trained before he could run, he dressed in light clothing, so he could run faster and reach the finishing line to receive a crown. The runner had to abide by the rules, if not he would be disqualified.

The Word of God is the rules, guidelines, instructions, manual that we to abide by in order to receive our eternal rewards.

Paul did not stop with the soldier and the marathon runner, he used farming terms (Jesus Christ also used farming in His teaching). A farmer must plant the seed, then he cultivates the ground, and he keeps working on his crop to produce a good harvest. All three of these examples required hard work.

You know what else is work? Studying or being trained in the Word of God is WORK, but there are rewards (eternal benefits).

You should never argue about the Word of God. If you cannot agree with someone about the Word of God, or if someone wants to debate about scriptures, please remain silent. Nothing is accomplished by arguing. The person who argues is the one who is less knowledgeable, they already think they know more than they know.

So, do not pull yourself down to that level. In studying the Word of God, it has to be rightly divided.

Footnote from John McArthur Study Bible: [“cutting is straight”- a reference to the exactness demanded by such trades as carpentry, masonry, and Paul’s trade of leather working and tentmaking. Precision and accuracy are required in biblical interpretation, beyond all other enterprises because the interpreter is handling God’s Word. Anything less is shameful]. This is powerful!

Are you shamefully sharing the Word of God?

Apostasy, How to Treat the Elderly, Charge to the Rich Christians (Synopsis) 12-10-2020

Continuation of Paul’s letter to Timothy (1 Timothy, Chapters 4-6)

You read about the bishop and deacons in chapter 3, now we will move on to Paul’s instructions to Timothy, his son in the ministry.

In chapter 4, Paul writes about apostasy, which means a falling away. Many people who professed to be born-again have been falling away for years. The closer we get to Jesus’ return, it will be manifest more than ever, because the demonic activity is more on the rise.

I wrote about the falling away recently and used Judas as an example: He walked with Jesus Christ and the other disciples, but he was never born-again (John 17:12), and the disciples never knew it. This is proof: “Assuredly I say to you, one of you will betray Me,” And each one of them began to say to Him “Lord, is it I?” (Matthew 26:21-22).

We are not able to tell who is who, either. Yet there are things that the Word of God tells us to let us know something is wrong with the picture. So, let’s go there:

5) Last Days -Apostasy

People will forbid marriage and tell others not to eat certain foods. In the Old Testament, the Israelites physically showed the surrounding nations that they were different by not eating certain foods. In the New Testament, because we are under a new and better covenant through Jesus Christ’s shed blood, we have the Holy Spirit living in us; therefore, with our lights shining, we are different from the world (Matthew 5:16).

If you do not want to eat certain foods, do not tell someone else they should not eat it because you do not eat certain foods. The Word of God tells us that our food is sanctified by the Word and by prayer. Please do not think you can eat anything you want to if you have a health problem - use wisdom.

By the way, when we get to 2 Timothy, you will read about other things to be aware of pertaining to the last days. I will point out some of the things that are happening right now to prove we are living in those days. Coming up this weekend.

6) Instructions on how to treat the elderly

Exhort him as a father, treat older women as mothers and younger women as sisters with all purity. Stop! Where is the respect? I wonder how many born-again believers know this is in the Bible. What about widows? It is the family’s responsibility to take care of their parents. My words: By whatever means that are necessary or suitable for the situation.

7) Charge given Christians who are rich in this world

Since we brought nothing into this world, we certainly cannot take it with us. We should be content with food and clothing (Philippians 4:19). Why does the Word of God say that those who desire to be rich fall into temptation which is a snare?

I heard several people who professed to be Christians say what they would do if they hit the lottery. No child of God should be gambling (taking chances); those who gamble are not trusting God, and a lack of trust is doubt, and that is sin. The Word of God says that wealth gotten hastily dwindles; the end will not be blessed (Proverbs 13:11, Proverbs 20:21). Take what you just read and digest it. The love of money is the root of all evil.

And for those who God allowed to be rich, this is what His Word says:

I charge those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty (prideful), nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God who gives us all things to richly enjoy. Let them do good that they may be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share. Storing up for themselves a good foundation…..

If you are a rich child of God, be obedient to His Word. He did not say to give everything away, but if you are sensitive to the Spirit of God, He will show you who to bless.

Bishops and Deacons

Continuation of Paul’s letter to Timothy (1 Timothy, Chapter 3) 12-9-2020

As I go into the second part of Paul’s letter to Timothy, there is more history that may not be known to many, especially when it comes to the role of bishop (five ministry offices) and deacons.

4) Qualification for bishops and deacons

Bishops, elders, and overseers are interchangeable names for the five ministry offices – they are the administrators. This is the office of someone who has been called, and these are the qualifications. The bishop (all five-fold ministry offices), as well as the deacon is called to be blameless (live above reproach).

Why would anyone think blameless is the first word used when it comes to the qualifications of a bishop or a deacon?

When Jesus Christ said: Love your neighbor as yourself, and on these two commandments (LOVE) hinge on all the commandments (Matthew 26:36-40). Love does not harm to his neighbor, love speaks no evil, and so on (1 Corinthians, chapter 13). If one understands love, they will not kill, steal and so on. Love is also the first listed of the fruit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Many people do not take the Word of God seriously as they did back in the day. Although they did not have much of an understanding, their morals were different. And, if they did not live above reproach, the church removed them from the pastoral office.

When the Word speaks of the bishop being a man with one wife, some say “one-woman man”, which means he is single-hearted; he has no lust for other women, pornography and so on, he should not get divorced and remarry.

How in the world is he going to counsel another couple and tell them the Bible says: “What God puts together, let no man separate” (Mark 10:9), or “till death do us part”. And the man who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor with the Lord (Proverbs 18:22).

How in the world can the pastor preach certain sermons to a congregation if he is not living a blameless life? I never said perfect, because none of us are in that sense, but we should be examples and role models to others. There is a greater condemnation because the person who preaches/teaches is held at a higher standard (James 3:1).

I am only writing what the Word of God says. Notice that the Word says likewise when it comes to the deacons. Some people get this mixed up because the characteristic is the same as the bishop (five-fold ministry). This means as it was in the book of Acts at the beginning of the church age, the deacons were to minister to the physical needs, while the apostles spent time with God so they could minister the Word to the people (Acts 6:1-7).

The Word says not a novice (a baby Christian); who will get puffed up with pride. Lucifer was puffed up with pride and he was kicked out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14). That is the reason they were told not to lay hands on no man suddenly.

The problem in many churches is they lay hands on people for the wrong reason. One of the reasons is, those who are laying hands on others are still babies themselves. They jumped ahead of God before they were trained, and they put others in position; this is a vicious cycle that needs to come to an end.

It damages the church and when someone comes along and tell them the truth, because they learned from those who were unlearned, many of them stay stuck in that ignorant mode.

This is my calling, and if you understood the gifts, you would understand what the Spirit of God is doing through others and me. If you do not want to change from your traditional way of thinking and get the right mindset, you will give account to God for yourself.

Women in Ministry and My Experiences 12-8-2020

The message yesterday was pertaining, legalism (unsound doctrine); that we are called to pray for all those in authority and about women being silent in the church. As I was preparing to finish my message about Paul’s letter to Timothy pertaining to the office of a bishop, I felt prompted to share some of my experiences in ministry.

History: It was the Lord who called me into the two five-fold ministry offices, not a person. First of all, the office could not have been called by a person, since most people in the body of Christ either do not embrace it or they do not understand the five-fold ministry offices (Ephesians 4:11).

However, many people saw the call of evangelist, it was evident because I was preaching/sharing the gospel wherever I went. However, the call of the prophet was misunderstood, especially when the Spirit of God would use me to bring correction and warnings.

Three of my former pastors did recognize my call of an evangelist. One of the pastors went to the moderator of the association and asked to start classes for me and others who had the call, could be ordained as an evangelist.

The board of directors shot it down; they said no. They only ordained men to be pastors and they called them reverend. Reverend? That is an offense to me, especially when Psalm 111:9 says holy and reverend is His name. The title of Reverend stems from Roman Catholicism.

I understand why they use a title that belongs to God; it is because of ignorance. If one cannot rightly divide the Word of truth when it comes to understanding what it means for women to be silent in the church, what more can you expect?

When I started taking ordination classes, one of the instructors whom I had known for years, told me some things would be taught that I did not agree with, but to keep quiet, so I could be ordained. When I went before the board to be examined, I was asked what title I wanted to use. I told them that evangelist or minister was my preference. Glory be to God, they put evangelist on my ordination papers. God did it!

I noticed that these male leaders would address each other as reverend and when it came to women, they would address them as sister. As I look back over the last twenty years of being in ministry, I felt inferior to the male ministers because of the way many of them treated me.

A former pastor of a church where I later became an associate minister passed, and I was asked to preside over his funeral service. The minister who was assigned to pray, asked the other ministers in the pulpit to join hands. At the end of the prayer, the minister on my left snatched his hand away from mine as if he did not like holding my hand. Later, I asked him if he had a problem with female ministers and he said: “Sister, I do not have a problem with female ministers”. He was exposed!

How about being overlooked or looked down upon, and not allowed to preach in my own church and ministers from other churches came in to preach when the pastor was away; yet I presided over the service. Not only that, through all the evil things that were done and said against me, I stayed until the Spirit of God told me to move on.

I experienced many hurts, but with the help of the Lord, I got over them. God allowed these things to happen for a reason; for my good and to benefit others (Romans 8:28).

Brothers and sisters, I was not perfect in the situation either, but I do everything possible to make any wrongs, right. If I were still stuck in that hurt rut, my ministry would not be where it is today, and I examine myself regularly to see where I am in the faith.

To all my fellow female ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, stay in balance, walk in humility, and do not usurp authority over the male ministers. To all my fellow male ministers, remember that God calls whomever He chooses, because that is His business, not yours.

My encouragement to you today my dear brothers and sisters is, do not allow your personal feelings to get in the way of what God wants to do in your life “No pain, No gain!”

Jesus Christ suffered, so why not me? I am crucified with Christ; it is a daily walk of bearing my cross.

Paul’s Letter to Timothy (1 Timothy, Chapters 1-3) 12-7-2020

Since there is so much information and instructions in 1 Timothy, I am only going to point out some key things. The entire Bible is to benefit us, I encourage you to read all the scriptures in order to have a clearer understanding.

1) Paul tells Timothy about legalism and unsound doctrine, trying to mix law and grace -

False teaching had been sown into the church and Timothy must prevent the spread. Legends of the Jews are sometimes regarded as historical but not authentic (no proof or is validated).

He tells Timothy to charge them that they teach no other doctrine, because some having swerved had turned aside to vain jangling.

In essence these people were telling fantasized stories designed to alter one’s behavior with their impressive words that were meaningless. I have heard and seen how excited some people get through the charismatic way some messages were delivered. It was meant to arouse the peoples’ emotions.

I was in a church service and the preacher was telling a joke and many were laughing; it was not funny to me. When the service was over, I told them what the preacher said was not funny. Another time, the preacher would arouse the audience and when they calmed down, he would say something else to stir them up again; this was entertainment.

Sometimes when I have heard certain people preaching, I would say “They ain’t saying nothing.” Please excuse my bad English, but that is the way I say it and that was the truth.

2) Called to pray for all people –

You have read in a few of my messages several times that we are commanded to pray for all those in authority, that we may live a peaceful life. The scripture goes on to say that these leaders may need to be born-again. Therefore, their souls should be important to us.

3) Women are not to teach, but to be silent and not usurp (take the place of) authority over the man -

One must look at what the scripture is saying: It is not saying that a woman cannot teach, if that were true, why are other scriptures talking about women teaching/preaching?

Your sons and daughters shall prophesy (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17); Aquila and his wife Priscilla expounded on the Word of God (Acts 18:26); Women labored with Paul in the gospel (Philippians 4:3).

Timothy was taught by his grandmother Lois and by his mother Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:14); Older women were/are to teach the young women (Titus 2:3-5). It is saying that a woman can teach. At first it seemed to be a contradiction, that is why knowing history is important.

We attended a Mennonite church in the Amish country; the women were sitting on one side of the church and men were on the other side. The leader told us later that they did this according to the scripture (1 Timothy 2:11-12).

This scripture cannot be saying that a woman could not teach in some capacity, but in the church service she was not to ask her husband questions or talk, because this would be an undisciplined discussion that would disturb the service (1 Corinthians 14:34-35).

This is the reason we need scriptures that connect, support, and relate to each other. If one does not search the scriptures, they will misunderstand a stand-alone verse.

Since some of this message was written about women being silent, and you learned the truth, tomorrow, I plan to share some of my experiences of being in ministry.

Exposing the Devil's Lie ~ Eye Opener 12-6-2020

Knowledge is powerful, if it is used correctly: Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom; with all your getting, get understanding (Proverbs 4:7).

Today’s message has some important information that should open your eyes to the Truth of God’s Word versus the lie of the devil.

Some history: The original name Santa Claus evolved from Nick’s Dutch name, Sinter Klaas, a shortened form of Sint Nikolaas (Dutch for Saint Nicholas). The modern character of Santa Claus was based on traditions surrounding the historical Saint Nicholas (a fourth century Greek bishop and gift-giver of Myra), the British figure of Father Christmas. Really?

And the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas (himself based on Saint Nicholas).

Look at Father. Where did this word come from? God said not to call no man father (Matthew 23:9) - (He was not referring to earthly fathers), God was talking about people looking up to others like they look up to the pope in the Roman Catholic church. He is their god.

How can anyone say they love the Lord out their mouth and from their actions agree with Satan about this Santa stench? Or how can anyone eat from the Lord’s table and from the devil’s table at the same time (1 Corinthians 10:21).

You are compromising and agreeing with a false religion who worships the pope and Mary. How do you think the world is viewing you? They view you as a hypocrite. Many people who are not born-again have knowledge of the Bible and when they see you living a double-standard, they get turned off.

Even though these unsaved people must give account to Christ for their own actions, so will the children of God who are not being a light to those who are in darkness.

Many people who profess to be born-again do not live a victorious life and they don’t even know it. Because they are ignorant of the Word of God, they do not know why something is going wrong in their lives beyond the norm.

It is one thing to be attacked by the devil for doing what is right; yet it is altogether different when people open themselves up to the devil.

When I see how some people who profess to be born-again are treading on the devil’s territory, my heart is saddened. It reminds me of what the apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, especially when he said they were still babies. Mature Christians live according to the Word of God.

If you are still embracing Xmas or if you believe in Santa Claus, this indicates a lack of maturity and I will tell you why. When I was young in my walk with the Lord, I purchased a set of beautiful place mats that had Santa on them. Once I learned the truth, the Santa part of the placemat was disposed of.

If you are compromising by saying or writing Xmas, there is a need for repentance because you have taken Christ out of the equation. In other words, you have Xed Christ out.

I pray that the spiritual eyes of my Father’s children will be open so they may see (Psalm 119:18, Ephesians 1:18).

If the Truth will Set You Free, why are You Believing a Lie? 12-5-2020

Question:

1) What in the world is Xmas?

Answer:

Xmas is what Satan used to take Christ out of CHRISTmas.

Question:

2) Who in the world is Santa?

Answer:

The name Santa is an anagram for Satan- an anagram is a word within a word; a word formed by rearranging the letters. Unscramble Santa and you will see Satan, God’s enemy. And, whoever belongs to God is Satan’s enemy.

Question:

3) Why in the world would any born-again believer take their child to see Santa/Satan and tell him what they want for Christmas?

Answer:

According to the Word of God, all good and perfect gifts come down from the Father of lights (James 1:17).

Question:

4) Who would wear anything pertaining to Santa/Satan?

Answer:

Whoever wears anything that pertains to Santa/Satan, is ignorant of who Santa/Satan is, or maybe they think it is innocent, or maybe they have children and they want to wait until the children get a little older and tell them because they don’t want to take the fun out of their Xmas. Yes, I said Xmas because Christ is not in what you are doing.

Furthermore, I am here to tell them if they are playing with fire they are going to get burned.

Continuation of Paul’s Second Letter to the Church at Thessalonica (2 Thessalonians) 12-4-2020

Some of Paul’s writings pertaining to the end times connect with John’s writing in the book of Revelation. Some of this will come up again when a message is written about Revelation.

I am continuing from yesterday’s message. When Satan possesses the man called the antichrist, this will not be the first time. He possessed the serpent in the garden of Eden that deceived Eve (Genesis 3:1).

The snake was the most beautiful creatures, and he was standing upright, but he opened himself up to Satan who possessed him. After the fall, the serpent (snake) was to crawl on his belly and eat the dust of the earth the rest of his life (Genesis 3:14). Now, we know that the serpent had to be beautiful in order to deceive Eve.

The Word of God says: He (Satan) transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Satan possessed the king of Tyre (Ezekiel 28:1-19). This vision is not of Satan in his own person, but of Satan fulfilling himself in and through an earthly king who arrogates [take claim without justification] to himself divine honors: Footnotes from the Old Scofield Study System.

Satan possessed Judas (Luke 22:1-6), key verse is 3. This is what the scripture said about Judas: The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born (Mark 14:16).

Getting back to when Jesus will return; no one knows (Matthew 24:36). One thing for certain, the antichrist will not appear until we are raptured (taken) up to be with Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

God never allows His children to suffer wrath; that is for the children of disobedience (the unsaved).

I am going to give you a scripture that has been misunderstood. There are some who think the children of disobedience are those who lost their salvation.

This is not true. The children of disobedience were never born-again. God’s children may disobey Him but that does not mean that they are not saved. It is the same with God’s children when we fall into sin; we are not sinners.

Some say, “I am a sinner saved by grace” We were sinners - but such were some of you (1 Corinthians 6:11), but we have been saved by grace (Ephesians 2:1-6, 8-9). It is impossible to be a saint and a sinner at the same time; just as it is impossible to have two natures.

We are a new creation; old things are passed away, behold all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). You were sometimes darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (Ephesians 5:6-8).

This is for those who have been playing church (going through the motions) and do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I pray that you will take heed to what the Word of God says: For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, having known it to turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them (2 Peter 2:21).

Hell is real, if you don’t receive Jesus as Savior, you will end up in hell which will be cast into the lake of fire where the is never ending torment (Revelation 20:11-15).

Paul’s Second Letter to the Church at Thessalonica (2 Thessalonians) 12-3-2020

It seemed as though the church had suffered persecutions and hardships just as Paul and Silas had suffered leading to their departure of the city by night. Because of Paul’s concern for the church, he sent Timothy there. Early on, Paul praised the church for their steadfastness, their persistence and patience amid adversity.

Still, there were clear concerns over imbalanced attitudes related to Christ’s coming. We hear, said the apostle that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all. This seemed to be prompted by erroneous teaching that someone unnamed had brought to Thessalonica the doctrine that announced the day of the Lord had come - NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible.

People have predicted that the world was coming to an end or that Jesus was coming back, for many years. Some also predicted specific dates of His return. Jehovah’s Witnesses said Jesus was coming in October 1914.

The devil is also out to deceive the children of God with his lies, and sadly many fall for the lie. A well-known Christian minister also predicted that the world was coming to an end in 2011. He was labeled as a false prophet. However, it was publicized later that he repented and apologized for his false teaching, praise God!

Everyone who predicted when Christ will return, lied. The Word of God says no one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return (Mark 13:28-33).

There was so much given to Paul to write to the churches, and especially to the church at Thessalonica and to us pertaining to the end times. Jesus talked about the end times and He told the disciples and us not to be troubled because these things must come to pass before Christ returns (Matthew 24:4-7). Jesus also talked about false prophets (Matthew 7:15).

Paul told the church about the return of Christ, and that they should not be shaken in mind or troubled as though the day of the Lord had come. Paul said: Let no one deceive you by any means, for that day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition. Jesus also said: Take heed that no man deceives you (Matthew 24:4).

What did Paul mean when he said a falling away? This is referred to apostasy- these are those who professed to be born-again, but they never had a relationship with Christ. Judas Iscariot is an example of an apostate. He walked with Jesus and the other disciples and he was the treasurer (John 12:6), yet he was not born-again.

Judas and the antichrist are the only ones called the son of perdition, which means utter loss, eternal destruction (John 17:12).

Satan is going to possess a man who is the antichrist, and in the middle of the seven-year tribulation period, he will finally sit on the throne and declare himself to be God. Paul reminded the church of what he has told them previously about the things that would happen in the future.

I must interject this: Satan will finally get to sit in the temple, showing himself that he is God (2 Thessalonians 2:4). Satan wanted to do this when he was Lucifer, the light-bearer or son of the morning, who was the top angel; he was a cherub, not an arch angel (Isaiah 14:12-14).

He was so beautifully covered with precious jewels that radiated with such light that the glory of God radiated from these precious jewels that was unlike any of God’s creation. All the music was created in him, and he was corrupted because of his beauty (Ezekiel 28:12-19).

That is the reason Lucifer was kicked out of heaven, and from that time he (now Satan), has been in total opposition to God, better worded as adversary/enemy. So, he went from being God’s anointed cherub (the highest rank of angels) to being God’s number one enemy.

There is more, so please come back tomorrow; this is not the end of the story.

Church at Thessalonica (1 Thessalonians) 12-2-2020

This church had both Gentile and Jewish Christians and the short while Paul was there, the church at Philippi assisted him financially (Philippians 4:16).

Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica caught the attention of both the Jewish opponents and Roman officials for preaching about Jesus being called “Lord” was to employ a title otherwise applied to the emperor: “These are acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another King – Jesus” (Acts 17:7). Paul and his team were forced to leave Thessalonica.

Paul wrote encouraging words to the church commending them for their faith, labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord, encouraging them to walk worthy of God who had called them into His kingdom of glory. Paul commended them for welcoming the truth of God’s Word.

Paul made a plea to them to walk in holiness and abstain from sexual impurity, each should know how to possess his body in sanctification and honor, not in passion and lust like the Gentiles who did not know God. The paragraphs above were taken from NKJV Filled Spirit Life Bible footnotes.

Amen, and praise God, I feel the same way as Paul did. That is why many of my messages/letters are written the way they are. It gives me great joy when I know my brothers and sisters are open the Word of God.

Have you ever been in a church service and you said: "The pastor stepped on my toes”? That was the Holy Spirit using Him to show you that something needed to change in your life. This is called being convicted or convinced that you needed to make a change.

Children of God, these words about sexual impurity have come up several times in different letters to the church. Apparently that was and still is a strong issue in the body of Christ. Remember, the Word of God is speaking to His children today.

Paul admonished the church to love one another, that they would live a quiet life, mind their own business, to work with their own hands.

Paul comforted the church about the coming of the Lord, which is of great importance in both letters to the church at Thessalonica. He tells how the rapture will take place; this means to be caught up to be with the Lord and we will be with Him forever. Not only did Paul comfort the church and us, but he encouraged us to comfort one another about the coming of the Lord.

Paul also gave the church various exhortations: And we urge brothers to recognize those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish (caution or advise) you and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

Now, we exhort you brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient to all. See that no one renders evil to anyone, but always pursue what is both good for yourselves and for all. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Do not quench (suppress, stifle) the Holy Spirit - This means to keep Him from moving in the church or putting out His flame. It is like pouring water over a fire to put it out.

Paul also tells the church not to despise prophecies, but to test all things and hold on to what is good. I love prophecy, but I also test it and if whatever is said comes to pass, I know it is from God. Paul reiterates to the church to abstain from all appearance of evil. In other words, anything that looks evil to others, don’t do it.

I understand why Paul was under such great attack when he sent correction to the churches. The enemy did not want the church to be the light it was and is called to be. The more influence the devil has in the church, the more the light is diminished. It is such a shame that in many churches now-a-days, anything goes.

Truth of God’s Word, Not Extra-Biblical Doctrine 12-1-2020

You read in the last message that Paul wrote to the church at Colosse, about Christian character in the home and Christian masters (those in any kind of authority) which includes an employer. You may ask how I know that the Word is talking about Christians.

Well, the Word of God says the natural man (unsaved) person does not understand the things of God…..(2 Corinthians 2:14). The Word is written for our instruction (2 Timothy 3:16), that we may grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).

Back to Paul and how wrote to masters that they would be fair to their servants, since their Master/Father did not show respect of persons (Romans 2:11). He also wrote to the servants, that they would be obedient to their masters (Ephesians 6:5-9, Colossians 3:22-25, 4:1).

Why do you think Paul wrote to masters to be fair to their servants? It was and is known that throughout history, many slave masters were cruel to their slaves. People became slaves for different reasons; the Israelites became slaves in Egypt when a new king began to rule.

They were fruitful and increased abundantly… the new king thought the Israelites would become mightier than the Egyptians, so they set taskmasters over them and they were treated harshly (Exodus 1:7-14).

Some quote on quote Christians abused the Word of God to satisfy their desires to rule over others. They allowed the devil to deceive them.

On that note, I am going to show you how the devil deceives people with Extra-Biblical doctrine. You really need to be aware of this this because many cults use the Word of God, just as the devil did.

While studying and writing about the church at Colosse and how the Gnostics were trying to persuade the church with false doctrine by saying that Christ could not have come in the flesh, because matter (flesh) was evil.

The Word of God clearly tells us that every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has not come in the flesh is not of God (1 John 4:1-3).

Others do not believe that the Godhead consists of three persons. However, the Word of God says: There are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit and these three are one (1 John 5:7).

Some say Jesus is not God, that He is a god. Every original Holy Bible that I read says: In the beginning was the Word (Jesus Christ) and the Word (Jesus Christ) was with God, and the Word (Jesus Christ) was God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among men (John 1:1,14).

Others say that Jesus was a prophet like Moses and Mohammad; Jesus was more than a prophet- He was greater than Moses (Hebrews 3:1-6) and Jesus Christ was greater than any other prophet. All the prophets died, but Jesus was the Only One who was raised from the dead! (Matthew 28:1-6).

Watch (beware) of those who said God gave them a special vision; that is not true. All the information we need to know about God is in His Word. Therefore, if anyone comes up with anything that is Extra-Biblical, do not receive him (Galatians 1:8-9, 2 John 1:10). Studying the Word of God helps one to discern what is good and what is evil (Hebrews 5:12-14).

Anybody who says there is more than one way to God is a liar and the truth is not in them. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father (God) but by Me (John 14:6). There is One Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). There is Only One name whereby men can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Witnessing Effectively 11-30-2020

Why Beat Someone Down When They are Already Down?

This will put them in a deeper slump; forcing the gospel on others or beating them down will only turn them off. Depending on how you witness to others can be a turn off and perhaps some will feel there is no hope for them.

The Word of God says: To Him who is joined to all the living, there is hope; for a living dog is better than a dead lion (Ecclesiastes 9:4). Pleasant words as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones (Proverbs 16:24).

Just telling someone that God loves them could make a world of difference. When I walked the streets of Camden, especially on Broadway, I would tell many of those I came in contact with that “God loves you.” If the person were a female, I would even give her a hug. It did not matter how bad the person looked or if she did not smell good. What would I expect, given the situation?

As I look back over my life, I too can say like the songwriter that “God has been good to me.” Some of the things I did were so bad, my life was in danger, but God kept me because He had a plan for my life (Jeremiah 29:11).

Like the apostle Paul, I also can say that it is because of God’s grace that I am what I am, and His grace shown to me was not wasted….. (1 Corinthians 15:10) … I may not have worked harder than some others as Paul did, but I am pressing to reach my goal (Philippians 3:14).

At the opportune or appropriate time, you can give your personal testimony about your salvation experience; each of us has our own testimony as to how we became born-again. God has people He has ordained for each of us to witness the gospel of Jesus Christ to.

My responsibility may be different because of the call on my life but it is not greater. All of God’s children are called to evangelize (Matthew 28:19-20). However, the call of the evangelist fivefold ministry office comes with the grace (ability) to destroy yokes in the lives of others. This call goes beyond evangelism. Demons are cast out, signs, wonders and miracles accompany this call.

That is the reason most places I go, a door of opportunity is opened for me to witness the gospel of Jesus Christ, whether on a ship, on an airplane, bus, train and so on. Camden New Jersey was more of a training ground; I walked the streets for almost four years and showed the love of God to hookers, homosexuals, those who were addicted to various substances, and others who were bound by the devil.

One of my drug dealer friends that I dated back in the day received Christ. The Holy Spirit prompted another person and me to go in a crack house and three people were rescued and sent to Teen Challenge in Rochester, New York. A couple of times, I rode the bus with the person who was going to be a resident at the induction center in Rochester.

The Lord put one man in our path at a rehab in Whiting, New Jersey who was from the Bronx; sometime later I was given the opportunity to go to the Bronx to visit him and his mother.

The door of opportunity opened at a McDonald’s on Market St. in Center City, Philadelphia. The Lord used us to take the man to My Brother’s Keeper, in Camden, New Jersey.

When I reflect over those days, there is such an excitement that makes me more passionate about going into whatever areas the Lord send me. So far, this has been an awesome journey of being called and walking in obedience to help “Set the Captives Free”

There are many more testimonies that cannot be written at this time. I pray that this message will encourage and motivate the readers to press forward do what you are called to do.

Answer to Brainteaser Challenge #2 11-29-2020

How would you present the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

Multi-choice:

1) Tell them that they need Jesus

If someone told me I needed Jesus, I probably would have used some choice words on them. People need to know why they need Jesus and how all this started that caused us to be in this condition.

Many people blame God for all the things that are going on, like sickness, babies dying, wars and so on. They need to know that God told Adam the day he ate the forbidden fruit, he surely would die (Genesis 2:16-17). Sure enough, that is what happened. Whatever God says, will come to pass; He cannot go back on His Word (Numbers 23:19).

2) Tell them to come to church Sunday and get saved

I went with someone on a house visit and he encouraged them to come to church the next Sunday so they could get saved. Once we were in the car, I asked the person why would someone need to go to church to be saved, when the gospel could have presented to them while we were in their house?

Another situation happened when a person came into a place of business and took his pocket Bible out and wanted someone to explain what it meant to be saved. The people were pastors, and they were talking to each other and trying to decide which of their churches the persons could go.

I asked them what stopped someone from presenting the gospel right there, and someone did. Our speech should be full of grace and seasoned with salt that we would give an answer to each person (Colossians 4:6). This man needed an answer the most important question anyone could ask.

He reminded me of Philip the evangelist and the Ethiopian eunuch. The angel told Philip to go to the desert of Gaza. When Philip got there a man was sitting in a chariot reading from the book of Isaiah, but the man needed someone to explain what he was reading. Philip explained, the man received Christ as his Savior and was baptized in water (Acts 8:26-39).

I was in a house on March 15, 1982 when my new birth took place. Even though nobody presented the gospel to me that day, I heard about Jesus many times prior to that day. The next Sunday I went to church and confessed what had taken place earlier that week.

3) Tell people if they do not get saved, they are going to hell

Jesus preached; the kingdom of heaven was at hand (Matthew 4:19); He also told Nicodemus: You must be born-again (John 3:1-7). God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and whoever believes in Him shall be saved. Those who do not believe are already condemned…(John 3:16-18). Therefore, we do not have the right to condemn those who are not born-again.

Paul wrote this: It is the goodness of God that leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4); not harsh words. The requirement is believing in the heart and confessing Jesus Christ with the mouth (Romans 10:9-10).

We are the salt of the earth; salt is flavorful (Psalm 34:8). Salt is also a preservative and it is valuable.

Therefore, we should never allow our salt to lose its flavor (value). We are to let our lights so shine…. (Matthew 5:13-16), when people see our lights, God is glorified.

4) None of the above

If you said none of the above, praise God- Now go and continue witnessing to lost souls!

If you profess to be born-again and do not know how to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost, I strongly suggest that you get with someone and learn how to witness the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8).

Every child of God is commissioned to share the gospel to those who are lost. How can one share what they do not know, and how can one know unless they are taught?

Answer to Brainteaser Challenge # 1 and Brainteaser Challenge # 2 11-28-2020

As I continue with day two of the brainteaser challenge, it needs to be explained that no one will stand before Christ until the Judgment Seat of Christ, which is for born-again believers - those who received Jesus Christ as their Savior (Romans 14:12, 2 Corinthians 5:10),

or the Great White Judgment which is for unbelievers- for those who rejected Christ (Revelation 20:11-15). If your answer was none of the above, you understand what it means to be born-again.

Answers to the to the multi-choice are below:

1) I went to church.

Going to church will not save anyone - A person must receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Jesus Christ said: You must be born-again (John 3:3, 7), and that comes with one confessing with their mouth the Lord Jesus what they already believe in their heart; that Christ died for their sins and God raised Him from the dead, they shall be saved or born-again (Romans 10:9-10).

2) I was a good person, and I did not mistreat anybody

The Word of God says: there is none righteous (good), no not one (Psalm 14:3, Romans 3:10). Anyone thinking that they are good or righteous means that their own righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).

3) I did good works; gave to the homeless, etc.

Works will not bring salvation- It is by God’s grace and the faith that He gives them that causes one to be born-again (Ephesians 2:8-9). The Spirit of God has led me to several people who had, what is called death bed confessions.

This situation was somewhat different since the lady had worked in the church for many years. The sad thing is she had not received Christ and worked in the church as one of the leaders of a couple organizations. All her works were in vain. The good thing was, she received Christ as Savior and shortly afterward she passed on to be with the Lord.

4) I was baptized

There is an old saying: “They go down a dry devil and come up a wet devil.”

Jesus said: You must be born-again (John 3:3, 7). Once a person is born-again they are to be baptized in the water. Philip, the evangelist witnessed the gospel to the Ethiopian eunuch and after he received Jesus as Savior, the eunuch was baptized in water (Acts 8:29-39).

You may ask, what would happen if a person gets saved and die before they are baptized. The thief on the cross was not baptized (Luke 23:42-43). Water baptism is an outward sign of showing others, you have received Jesus Christ as Savior, by identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection.

Thanksgiving Blessings 11-26-2020

Grace and Peace from God my Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior.

Thank God that He allowed us to see another Thanksgiving, this special day that has been set aside for families to gather in the United States and commemorate this wonderful time to gather and fellowship with each other.

Although this year is different from all my experiences of being able to fellowship because of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are millions of people who cannot fellowship the traditional way, yet we are alive and that is a lot to be thankful for.

Let’s remember all the blessings that have been bestowed upon us, and that every day is truly a day of thanksgiving.

While enjoying your delicious meals, pray for those who are without. There are many who are destitute in different places around the world.

Although the killer pandemic virus Covid-19 has struck globally and has brought millions of people to a stand-still, many churches and others are reaching out to those who are destitute, by providing meals and other essentials.

Whatever the Spirit of God leads you to do, wherever He leads you, or whomever He leads you to; just be in tune to what He is prompting you to do. Thank God for those of you who are sharing your blessings unselfishly in various ways.

The Word of God tells us to be hospitable to strangers; for in doing so, you may be entertaining angels and you do not know it (Hebrews 13:2-3); this means to extend ourselves beyond our biological family or the family of God.

Jesus was the perfect example of ministering to the hungry (Matthew 14:13-21).

The emphasis is to be a blessing to someone during this Thanksgiving holiday.

I pray that you will have a very fulfilling day and that you will be thankful for all your blessings.

Being Grateful ~ The Lord is Good! 11-25-2020

Questions

Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have food on your table? Do you have clothes on your back?

Are you walking in health and prospering as your souls prosper? (3 John 2) What do I mean by walking in health and prosper as your souls prosper? You must study the Word of God. Example: I have all kinds of attacks that the enemy afflicts me with. However, the devil cannot win. Whatever the devil afflicts me with, the Lord raises me back up (Psalm 34:19).

The enemy cannot keep me down because I study the Word of God and I stand on every promise of God (2 Corinthians 1:20). The Lord promised to provide (Philippians 4:19), and He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19)

There is a saying: “You can’t keep a good man down”. The truth is the devil cannot keep the children of God down, especially those who know the truth. The devil is limited to what he can do to us. God put limitations on the devil when He allowed him to attack Job. Even though the devil took everything Job had, including his family, he could not take Job’s life (Job 1:12).

Why would the Word of God say that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loved us (Romans 8:37)? If you do not know that you are more than conquerors, you will not walk in victory. The Word of God says: My people are destroyed (suffer loss) for lack of knowledge, and some reject knowledge. Why? Because they are not open to the truth (Hosea 4:6).

Do you complain because you do not have certain things? Some people cannot handle a million dollars. Whatever the things are that you are desiring, seek God first and He will add the things (Matthew 6:33). An intimate relationship with God should always be your number one priority. He does not want you to desire anything that do not line up with His will (Psalm 37:4, 1 John 5:14).

The Israelites murmured and complained because of their lack of faith and they wandered in the wilderness for forty years (Joshua 5:6). Even though they did not make it to the promise land, their shoes and clothes did not get old those forty years, because God still took care of them (Deuteronomy 29:5).

Some people are the same way today. They complain for different reasons and they miss the best that God has for them. I do not have a million dollars; don’t even have one thousand dollars, yet I have everything because of my status as a child of the King who owns everything. God made me His heir and a joint-heir with Christ (Psalm 24:1, Psalm 50:10-11, Romans 8:17).

Do you worry? God takes care of fowls of the air and the lilies of the field; He certainly takes care of us who He made in His image (Matthew 6:25-34). Tomorrow is not promised; life is but a vapor (James 4:14). You can be here today and gone the next moment.

I am sure we can look around and see that someone else is worse off than we are. That should make us more grateful (thankful), because every day is a day of Thanksgiving - God’s been good to all of us and He keeps on blessing all His children.

The Church at Colosse – Carnality (Part 3) 11-24-2020

I will continue with Paul’s letter to the church at Colosse, by moving to the next heading that is in the NKJV Filled Life Bible which is:

Not carnality, but Christ

The Church that Paul wrote to at Colosse and all the children of God are to: Set our minds on things above and not of things on the earth. Although we live in this world, things of the world should not be our focus.

Paul talks about our lives being hidden in Christ and since He is our life, when He appears, we will appear with Him in glory.

Therefore, we are to put our members (the flesh) to death, the things that are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness which is idolatry.

The things you once walked when you lived in them. But now you are to put off anger…. malice.. and filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge of the One who created you.

Summation of carnality or walking (living) according to the flesh: We are called to live a life that is pleasing to God; since the Spirit of Christ lives in us, we have a new nature. So, as children of the Most-High God we are to have the character of the new person.

My experience with a neighbor: We talked about Jesus and he said he was saved, but I never saw any evidence that he was born-again. He partied, cursed, smoked crack, and drank alcohol, yet, when I told him how we are supposed to live as children of God, on several occasions, he said: “Jesus was the only one that was perfect.”

One day I said to him: “Everybody knows Jesus was the Only Perfect One, so stop using that as a cop out (justification) for what you are doing.” Someone used to sing this song “If you got religion you ought to show some sign". Since I do not believe in religion when it comes to man’s way of doing things, I say this: “If you are born-again, you ought to show some sign.” (Matthew 5:13-16)

Even though we are still in these flesh bodies, we cannot justify our sins. We should become more intimate with the Lord daily and that old man will decrease as we allow the Spirit of God to increase. In other words, we should walk in the spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Paul wrote the same thing to the church at Colosse pertaining to the Christian home and masters that he wrote to the church at Ephesus: Wives submit to your husbands as fitting to the Lord; husbands love your wives…., children obey your parents…., fathers do not provoke your children to wrath,

masters give your bondservants what is just and fair…This is one of the scriptures that was said to be used by quote on quote Christian slaveowners to justify that they could do whatever they wanted to do to the slaves. It was highly misused scripture (Ephesians 6:5-9, Colossians 3:22-4:1).

The Church at Colosse – Legalism (Part 2) 11-23-2020

As I continue with Paul’s letter to the church of Colosse, the topics at the beginning of certain paragraphs are taken from the NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible. Here is another connection where scriptures are confirmed, related to, and supported by other scriptures.

Paul addressed the church at Galatia about falling back into the bondage of legalism (Galatians 3:1-3). The letter to the church at Colosse was similar in this way: Paul was warning and educating them about false teachers coming in to either take back in bondage or to deceive those who did not know the truth.

Not legalism, but Christ

Christ took care of our sins when He died on the cross and rose the third day; that is, He took care of what the law could not do. Jesus fulfilled the law with bringing grace which goes beyond any sin we commit - Where sin abounds, grace abounds more (Romans 5:20), whereas the law made people aware of their sins (Romans 3:20). No one is justified by his or her sins, and legalism does not have the power to control sin.

Paul urged the church at Colosse to resist legalism, angel worship and all forms of religious indulgences that were being forced upon them by false teachers. Such exercises deny Christ’s supremacy and sufficiency and it robs Christians of their liberty -NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible.

Since Jesus Christ took care of everything for us, let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or new moon or sabbaths which were a shadow of things to come. But the substance is Christ. What does the substance of Christ mean?

Throughout the Old Testament, Christ was foreshadowed through types and figures. Example: The Passover - The Israelites were told to kill an unblemished lamb and put the blood on the doorpost and the Lord will not allow the destroyer to strike (kill) them; he would pass over their houses (Exodus, chapter 12).

This was symbolizing or typifying Jesus Christ the perfect sacrificial Lamb who would shed His blood for the sins of many (Matthew 26:28, Hebrew 9:22, 1 John 1:7). Therefore, we are not waiting for the Messiah – He was the Passover Lamb that was sacrificed for our sins, and with that being so, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ (Matthew 28:1-6). If Christ had not risen, we would be most miserable people and our faith would be in vain (1 Corinthians 15:12-19).

The Israelites were given dietary restrictions (Leviticus, chapter 11). There is no dietary law in the New Testament, for those who believe and know the truth (1 Timothy 4:1-5). Regardless of who believes or who does not believe when it comes to dietary laws, we should not let our differences separate us, nor should differences have any bearing on us loving each other.

The Israelites had to show physical signs to the nations around them that they, the people of God were different. Today, we have the Spirit of Christ living in us, so we have been mandated by God to let our lights so shine (Matthew 5:13-16).

And when it comes to days, God should be worshipped every day. However, if someone sets aside a different day to gather with other saints in fellowship, teaching/preaching and worship, why should I have a problem with it? I thank God that He has given us that freedom.

Since God said to worship Him only, why was Jesus Christ worshipped? Wise men worshipped Jesus Christ (Matthew 2:11), other people worshipped Him (Matthew 14:33, Matthew 28:9). This was not wrong to do because Jesus Christ was God in the flesh: In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God, the Word became flesh and dwelt among men. (John 1:1, 14).

The Church at Colosse 11-22-2020

According to history the church was in the home of Philemon. I think that is quite interesting, especially when most churches in our country have been closed for at least six months. T

he conversation came up several times recently about the beginning of the church age when the saints were meeting in different peoples’ homes. Today many are meeting physically in private settings, by way of the internet, skype, zoom, duo, WhatsApp and so on.

There was false teaching in this city, by a group of people who were called the Gnostics. They claimed to be the enlightened ones, meaning they were more knowledgeable and had greater insight. This group was teaching that spirit is good and matter is evil. They went as far to say that Jesus Christ could not have come in the flesh, because matter (flesh) was evil.

It is amazing how dots are connected when scriptures relate, support, and confirm each other. Paul wrote to the church at Colosse about false teachers; Jesus Christ wrote about false teachers (Matthew 7:15-20); this is just one of many scriptures Jesus spoke about false prophets/teachers.

John also wrote about false teachers. This is the connection that lines up with what Paul wrote in Colosse and what John wrote about false teachers: Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God.

Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist which you have head was coming and is already in the world (1 John 4:1-2).

There are many others who oppose the truth of God’s Word and that spirit is spreading rapidly in the body of Christ. You will read about this soon.

God’s children should not be gullible to these false teachings. Let’s move forward with the truth, rather than the lie:

Topics to paragraphs taken from the NKJV Spirit Filled Life Bible

Preeminence in Christ

God has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. By His Son, Jesus Christ, all things were created in heaven and that are on earth, visible or invisible, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers.

All things were created through Him and for Him. And He (Christ) is before all things, and in Him all things consist. In case you did not know this previously, the entire Word of God is about Jesus Christ.

Not philosophy, but Christ

Beware lest any man cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ. Be careful of man’s way of thinking that does not line up with the Word of God. Remember to test these spirits and see what is of God.

By the way, there is no such thing as trying the spirits by the spirits to see if they are of God. When the Word of God says there are many spirits, what are they being tested by? The test can only be to see what is true and what is false.

There is only One Spirit of truth; all the others are spirits of error (lies) produced by Satan. We are to test (determine) the value of whatever is being said is the pure unadulterated Word of God. Therefore, an evil spirit cannot be tested an evil spirit by an evil spirit because both are evil.

Church at Philippi 11-21-2020

You read about Paul’s letters to the church at Ephesus and his encouragement, as to who we are in Christ. In his letter to the church at Philippi as well as for our encouragement, Paul also told them how they were constantly in his prayers. I also pray for my brothers and sisters and, what Paul wrote to the church is how I feel about you.

Paul went on to say, the good work God started in them, He will continue until Christ returns. This is a connecting scripture that says: God is faithful, and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Paul further states that it is God who works to will and to do His good pleasure in His children’s’ lives.

In other words, God started this process that is pleasurable to Him and He is faithful to carry out His plan for and His will in our lives.

Brothers and sisters, regardless of your level of faith, I want to encourage you to move forward in your spiritual walk through this daily process. It takes time; I did not get to this spiritual place overnight. It has been a continual uphill journey for almost thirty-nine years and there still is a need for growth, which will continue until Christ returns, because I choose to grow.

Paul not only preached Christ but he lived for Christ. In fact, Paul was so intimate with Christ that he was hard pressed between leaving this world to be with Christ, which was far better. Paul said: Nevertheless, it is more needful for you.

I am sure many of you can identify with Paul not wanting to stay here, although we have barely gone through anything compared to what Paul went through. As for me, sometimes it seems so hard, I just want to be out of here. Since it is not my time, I will do everything possible to serve in the capacity God has called me to serve in.

Paul encouraged the church and us to let our minds be like Christ Jesus: Christ was humble and obedient to death. This Christ was God in the flesh, yet He did not think it was robbery to be equal with God. And because Christ was obedient to death, God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every name, and one day every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ (God the Son) is Lord to the glory of the Father.

God tells us in His Word that if we humble ourselves, He will exalt us. That is what it means to let our minds be like Christ. You never read where Christ called Himself humble, yet He lived a humble life, which was evidenced, and that is how we are supposed to live.

This life is not easy, but we can do all things through Christ who gives us the strength; therefore, we are able to press forward through every struggle. We should be even more encouraged to know that this world is not our home because our citizenship is already established in heaven, praise God!

So, whatever we go through down here, we do not need to be anxious or worry because God is in control of every situation (Matthew 6:25-34). With that being so, when we go to our Father in prayer, there is assurance that He answers according to His will and we should praise God.

I often think about Paul and what he said: I have learned to be content with whatever the state I am in. You see, Paul once had plenty and then he did not have. When Paul said I have learned; that means it was a process and it took time for him to get that place (mindset).

A couple of times I lost almost everything I had. Paul commended the church of Philippi for being generous to him: But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. That principle is for all of God’s children.

I want to take the opportunity to thank every person who has been a blessing to me by whatever means, especially to those who God used to help me financially. It was because of your generous hearts that I have been able to travel many places far and near, including trips abroad. To God be all praises, honor, and glory!

Where Do We Go from Here? 11-20-2020

You voted and it counted, even though God is in control and whatever He ordained, so it will be. We should consider it a privilege to have been able to vote, after all it was God Almighty who made it possible for every eligible citizen of the United Stated of American to vote.

Now that the election is over, what is next?

If the person you wanted to win, did not win, what can you do about it?

The answer is “Not one thing.”

Remember this, no one person is going to please everybody, no matter who wins. You may have voted for a particular person because you thought his or her standards were higher than their opponent’s.

Standards, what standards? What some people think standards, are not standards to me. I am looking at it according to God’s standard. Therefore, the worldly people or the unsaved will not see it the same way as I do, and that is to be expected.

However, whoever is in those leadership positions should be thinking about the welfare of the people, and in the Christian community, all leaders should be good role models and lead by good examples.

I have never witnessed anything like this election before, which is apparent how dirty politics are. Oh, such a dirty game. It also reveals how things are going to get worse before Jesus Christ returns; Christ, Himself tells us not to be shaken (alarmed, overwhelmed) by these things, foe they must come to pass (Matthew 24:4-7).

Why is this so? God told Adam, the day that he ate of the forbidden fruit, he would surely die (Genesis 2:17). God could not change what He told Adam (Numbers 23:19), Adam’s sin of disobedience caused sin to fall upon the human race (Romans 5:12). We live in a sinful world that is ruled by Satan (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Whatever the case, I pray that all of you who were affected in a way that had you out of sorts, that a lesson will be learned and you will stay away from anything that takes you off focus. I mean anything that will take your eyes off Jesus.

We are commissioned to be about our Father’s business. I am not saying that no Christians should be involved in politics. God has His children in many places to be a light but remember these people have been assigned to be in specific places and positions.

When you know what your assignment (purpose) is, God’s grace enables you to fulfill your destiny- even when there is temptation, God’s all-sufficient grace will sustain you. What if you yield to the temptation by compromising your Godly standards?

God’s grace goes beyond any sinful temptation you may fall into; that includes all of God’s children (Romans 5:20), regardless of our shortcomings.

Brothers and sisters let’s continue to encourage each other regardless of who you voted for. We should be thankful to God for the privilege to vote for whomever we choose. However, we should prayerfully weigh the options and stand on strong convictions.

Faith is What it Takes (Hebrews 11:1, 6) 11-19-2020

It was November 6, 2019 when I fell which resulted in a torn rotator cuff, and a sprained hand, that was confirmed after several x-rays and an MRI. Surgery was not required, but therapy was necessary. Although this was an accident that I do not blame Satan for; he did use it against me.

I could barely do anything for myself, not even drive my vehicle. Thank God for those He sent to aid me. In addition to me being partially immobilized, and could not use my right hand, I typed diligently and consistently to the best of my ability with my left hand.

A dearly beloved relative and sister/minister asked me if I had a dictator on my computer. I had not thought about using it; thank God for the wisdom of others.

I started going to therapy after finally getting the diagnosis. The therapy was going well, and on my off days I did therapy at home. And, then the covid-19 pandemic struck and having therapy at a facility ended. The awesome thing is, I already had everything at home to continue with the therapy.

The only drawback for me was, I could no longer travel to see my beloved family and friends in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. No complaints - God is too good to me! Although I miss them, God has provided ways to communicate through technology, and that is awesome.

I started this message about my injury in 2019. Something else happened on the same side of my body about three weeks ago. The tingling and numbness did not affect my typing, although it was painful and difficult to sleep at night. This time I believe this is an outright attack from the enemy.

Finally, on yesterday, the Lord used the medical staff to bring relief from the fluid that was in my elbow. The doctors did not think they could get all the fluid out of the sac, because the ultra-sound showed particles that were getting in the needle.

I prayed and believed they would get all the fluid out. After the doctor got as much as he could out with the needle, it left an opening big enough and fluid started oozing out. He squeezed the sac, and the rest of the fluid came out. When they left the room, I lifted my hand up and praised God.

There are still some issues, but I am continually moving (pressing) forward in the name of Jesus, because I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength (Philippians 4:13).

Paul had a thorn in his flesh and he asked God three times to remove it; he knew a messenger of Satan was sent to buffet (assault, attack) him; he also knew God’s grace was sufficient; Paul knew if he did not have the thorn in the flesh, he would exalt himself above measure, which would cause pride to get in the way of what he was called to do (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).

I am comparing the example of Paul with myself. God allows the enemy to attack, but it does not stop me from doing what He has called me to do; just as it did not stop Paul.

The apostle Paul said there was a great and effective door open for him, but there were many adversaries (1 Corinthians 16:9); I feel the same way.

My encouragement to you dear brothers and sisters is, no matter what the devil throws at you, keep pressing forward (Philippians 3:14). God has called you to be a winner, and if there are setbacks, God Himself will help you (Proverbs 24:16).

Today, a friend and I are traveling on a day trip despite the ace bandage wrapped around my elbow. This is mission that will also be fun because traveling is what I love to do, even if it is a short trip.

How am I able to do this? I stand on the Word of God by faith (Hebrews 11:1, 6) when it comes to walking in health and prospering, even as my soul prospers (3 John 1:2).

Keep on Pushing!

The Benefits (results) of Righteous Prayers 11-18-2020

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. What a mighty God we serve. I am overwhelmed at the responses from the prayer request that was posted two days ago.

Have we seen the results yet? Not in the natural, but our God is working on behalf of His children in the spirit realm. Daniel fasted and prayed, and he did not see the results until twenty-one days later (Daniel, chapter 10).

This is a true saying that I feel is appropriate for Daniel’s experience: “He's an on-time God, yes He is! He may not come when you want Him, but He’s right on time.”

The answer to some prayers is revealed right away, while others take more time. What is most important is, God saw the hearts of His children and how we believed that urgent and much needed prayer was necessary when it comes to what is going on in our country.

When I saw how people responded and agreed with me pertaining to the need that was requested, it boosted my faith. And I was really blessed to see how some people were sharing it with others.

Testimonies have also resulted from the appeal for prayer.

One person confirmed that the Spirit had shown and directed her several months ago to get as many people as she could to go to a certain place and pray. It did not take place because others did not support her.

I told the person if she had been obedient, there was a possibility God would have placed it on the heart of others to go to the place and pray. Her faith was being tested. And, as I am writing, I am believing that others still could have gone to the place.

Here is my point, the person’s story confirmed to me that I was led by the Spirit of God. Being obedient to God boosts our faith. Someone learned the importance of prayer. I may never hear all the reports, but from what I read already, was such a blessing to me. Some of my brothers and sisters shared the appeal for prayer.

To all of you who prayed - God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love (Hebrews 6:10a). Labor? Yes, true, intensified prayer is work and as I said two days ago, it moves the heart of God.

Knowing and understanding how powerful prayer is, will move those who do not have a consistent prayer life, to pray more.

Remember this, praying the Word of God is even more effective, so get into the Word and pray the kind of prayer that is God’s will. We know that it is His will for us to live a peaceful and joyful life despite all the chaos that is surrounding us.

We know it is God’s will to pray consistently – men ought to always pray and not faint- not get weak (Luke 18:1), and with fervency (James 5:16b-18).

Jesus prayed prayed many times for different situations that He encountered; and He got up a great while before day and prayed to His Father (Mark 1:35).

Jesus commanded us to pray (Matthew 6:5-15), and with right attitudes (humbly), not like the hypocritical Pharisee kind of prayer (Luke 18:13), yet with boldness and confidence (Hebrew 4:16).

The prayer of faith moves mountains – when you pray believe and you shall receive (Mark 11:23-25)

“Keep on praying saints, do not give up now, just keep on praying saints, He hears your cry”

Challenge for My Dear Brothers and Sisters 11-17-2020

I am forever grateful to all of you and I am even more grateful to those who understand me and what I have been called to do. For those who do not understand, thank you for loving me anyhow.

Many of you have read my messages and they vary as far as correction, warning, and encouragement; the three lumped together bring encouragement to God’s children. So, your acceptance of me brings encouragement which motivates me to continue writing these messages so passionately.

I want people to be open to the truth and stop being deceived by the devil’s lies that come in various ways. The greatest and most desired way the devil operates, is through human beings. He hates God and all of God’s children. He sends those lies to keep God’s children ignorant of His Word.

Now, I am going to challenge you to read some scriptures in the Bible about a king and you can determine for yourself if what is happening in our country today is like what happened in the Old Testament.

Daniel’s call was that of a prophet who prayed regularly and with intensity; he was given the ability to interpret dreams and Daniel was given dreams. God gave warnings to the king through his dreams that Daniel interpreted.

I will give an overview of the situation from Daniel, chapters 1-4

Daniel and the Hebrew boys were Jews who were captured by the Chaldeans; their names were changed and they were challenged to compromise, yet their strong beliefs, convictions and trust in God not only sustained them, but God caused them to have favor with ungodly people.

Daniel interpreted a dream that the king had; his sorcerers, astrologers and magicians were not able to interpret the king’s dream. The Lord had given Daniel wisdom and he and his friends, the three Hebrew boys prayed to God and they were given the interpretation. This caused Daniel and the Hebrew boys to get promoted.

Later, the king built an image of gold (an idol) and people from near and far came to the dedication of the image. When the music played everybody was to bow down and worship the image.

The three Hebrew boys refused to bow to the golden image, and they were thrown into the fiery furnace and not a hair on their head was singed, neither was there a smell of smoke on their clothes. The king looked with astonishment at the furnace where the Hebrew boys had been thrown into, and he saw four men, the fourth was the Son of God.

God is the Father of mercies and He had mercy on Nebuchadnezzar, then he had another dream, and his wise men were not able to interpret that dream either. Again, it was Daniel who was called upon to interpret the dream. The king knew that the Spirit of the Holy God would make known the interpretation to Daniel.

Nebuchadnezzar was an evil man, and when anyone, whoever the person was did not agree with or bow down to him, the king set out to destroy them.

The king’s humiliation

King Nebuchadnezzar’s downfall happened just as Daniel had interpreted. A Voice fell from heaven: King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken, the kingdom has departed from you!

And they shall drive you from men and your dwelling place shall be with the beasts of the field and you will live like an animal for a certain period. (paraphrased)

When the allotted time for the king to be a normal man again, he glorified God. The essence of this message is, no matter how high one may get or even think he is god, there is an allotted time before God humbles that person.

Think about it, does this story remind you of what is going on in our society today?

God gives space for repentance; when there is no repentance there is judgement

Urgent Prayer Request to True Born-again Believers 11-16-2020

I am asking all of you who know how to pray, intercede, and stand in the gap. The reason for this request is that our country is in trouble. This is a crucial situation that warrants our attention, and it should not be avoided.

This is what I am getting as I write this appeal to my brothers and sisters. I am concerned about the well-being of our country and it saddens my heart to see the state of evil among a greatly divided people.

This can be expected of sinners, although they should have some moral values of knowing right from wrong and good from evil. Yet, when it comes to the children of the Most-High God, there should be no division. That is why my appeal for prayer is to those who understand what it means to be born-again and what is expected from us.

Turn your hearts to God our Father with all sincerity. I still believe in the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much, or is beneficial, that prayer is powerful, that sincere prayer moves the heart of God our Father, that praying according to God’s Word and His will gets the attention of our Father.

Although we are living in the last and evil days, as born-again believers, we are called to pray and to be lights in this cold, dark, evil world. The reason we have not seen the move of God is because we have been saying the wrong things with the wrong attitudes.

Question: Are you praying for your selfish desires to be met? If you want something bad to happen to somebody, it will backfire.

In 2009, A new Biblical Obama slogan making the rounds on conservative T-shirts and bumper stickers is being interpreted as calling for the president’s death. The slogan “Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8” seems innocent enough, but the actual verse reads: “Let his days be few and let another take his office.” The Psalm goes on to say: “May his children be orphans, and his wife a widow.”

People, that was in 2009, the second year of the president being in office. Isn’t it amazing that the president won the election a second time? And, he is still alive and well! Ungodliness does not move the hand of God.

We must remember that we are living under a new and better covenant: “The Law of Love”

We must be careful and not misinterpret the Word of God. We are told to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hurt us, and pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us (Matthew 5:44).

That scripture has happened to most of us one way or another - cursed words have thrown at us; we certainly have been hurt in many ways, but especially by a virus/pestilence that is getting worse, when some things could have been avoided; we have suffered at the hands of evil people.

Do you really know who is behind all this evil? Satan, of Course!

I am reiterating this to the true saints of God, please pray for our country.

Are You Going to Stay in the Same Spiritual State? 11-15-2020

Marks of an Immature Christian (Part 2)

I am grateful to God our Father for you who evaluated your lives to see what your level of faith is. This is important if you want to go to the next level of your walk with Christ. It is time for part two of “Marks of an Immature Christian” to see if you are doing anything listed below.

7) There are people who feel their gifts are better or greater than someone with a less visible gift (1 Corinthians 12:22-23). It seems that way to a baby Christian, but one gift is just as important as the other.

8) What about those who you do not agree with when it comes to certain doctrinal beliefs? Do you talk down on them or do you say: “I may not agree, but they are still my brothers and sisters in Christ.”

9) Denominational cliques? Do you think your religion is better than other believers? Well, religion is what it is! God wants a heart that follows Him, not some religion where people want to make their rules. The same God is over all, and the same gifts are to function throughout the body of Christ world-wide.

Come on saints, let’s get it together and stop all this foolishness. We need to build each other up instead of tearing one another apart and we should be mindful that since we are humans and imperfect people, and none of us know it all.

10) What about a pastor who causes division? You may ask this: “For real?” I’m for real people! I have been in ministry since 2000 and there are so many things that can be told, but I will not go there, especially with names.

11) How about some pastors turning some people against others? And because they are pastors, some of the members fall for it. When you see somebody looking at you funny, it is evident that something negative was said. How can one lead a congregation of people with bitterness and anger in his heart against another brother or sister?

He is worse than anybody because the pastor is supposed to be model Christ (John 10:11).

In other words, the pastor is called to be examples to the flock, and when Christ the Chief Shepherd appears, they will receive a crown of glory that will not fade away (1 Peter 5:1-4).

12) What about pastor cliques – favoring one group of people over the others; because of their status, money, and what they can get (favors) from these people (James 2:1-9). Pastors are not to be greedy for money (Titus 1:11).

13) What about pastors who think they own the church that Christ purchased with His own blood? (Acts 20:28) and the qualifications of a pastor/ bishop/elder/ overseer not to be greedy for money are in 1 Timothy 3:1-6? Everything that has been written causes division.

Now that you know Christ is not to be divided, when are the children of God going to grow up, stop separating ourselves from one another and love up on everybody? We may not look alike, or act alike; but God our Father made each of us so uniquely different to complement each other.

If you do not fall into any of these categories from both messages, praise God!

Marks of an Immature Christian (Part 1) 11-14-2020

After writing excerpts from Paul’s letters to the church at Ephesus (will get to Philippians soon), I felt that it would be proper to write about baby Christians and how they can be identified. The truth is, most of the body of Christ (children of God) are still immature, including some leaders.

I am not making a judgement call; this is based on the Word of God. All the characteristics of immature Christians may not be identified in the message; these are some that stand out more. You will see a scripture that relates to each of these issues. Please read the scriptures for yourself.

I encourage you to take careful consideration of this list, be humble and honest and see where you fit in. These are some things that are going on in the body of Christ that need to be dealt with.

1) Harboring ill feelings opposed to fore-bearing or being patient with one another (Ephesians 4:2, 32, Colossians 3:13). This causes emotional, physical, and spiritual problems. You cannot experience joy when you are holding something against another person. I wrote in a previous message how dangerous it is to take communion with animosity in your heart; many get sick and some die (1 Corinthians 11:27-30).

2) If a person leaves a church, are they written off because they are no longer a part of your church? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3) That is cliquish! Is Christ divided? (1 Corinthians 3:13-17).

3) Division is a clique. A clique? Yes, there are cliques inside the local church and there are cliquish groups that are connected to a local church. What is a clique? A group of people who feel they are better than others, so they separate themselves.

There should not be any schism (split) in the body; we are all a part of the same body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:25-26), or maybe you are not born-again.

4) If a person does not like someone, it has been known that the person wants their friends to feel the same way– that is evil! And it is a divisive clique! How can you say you love God whom you do not see, and you do not show love for one another- that person is a liar (1 John 4:20)?

Jesus gave a new commandment for His church: By this will all men know you are My disciples by the love you have for each other (John 13:34). So, what does the new commandment mean?

Since we are under the time-period of grace and the Holy Spirit is living in us, we are more accountable and responsible because He convicts (convinces) us of our wrongs. Do you not know that you are grieving the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you?

5) If you have personal feelings against someone, why not tell them? The person may not know if they have done something to cause you to distance yourself from them. The Word of God says, if your brother (sister) sins against you, go to him alone and if he hears, you have gained your brother (Matthew 18:15-17).

How would you feel if someone does you like that? In other words, put yourself in the other person’s shoes. It is so much better to be in unity than to be divided.

6) There are people who feel their gifts are better or greater than someone with a less visible gift (1 Corinthians 12:22-23). It seems that way to a baby Christian, but one gift is just as important as the other.

This goes back to 1 Corinthians 3:1-3, pertaining to division, envying and strife. STRIFE means discord, and this is what the Word of God says: These six things the Lord hates and the seventh is an abomination (detestable)…. A false witness who spreads lies and he who sows discord among the brothers (Proverbs 6:16-19).

This is a Word from the Word of God to the children of God.
