Ministry is Not a Call to Stardom 9-11-24
Are we pursuing stardom, or being a servant, like Jesus? Somebody has this thing all wrong. We are not called to impress; we’re called to bless (serve). Can you believe that somebody produced the movie “Jesus, Christ Superstar?” That is totally contrary to the Word of God. Satan and his lies!
Wikipedia - Jesus Christ Superstar is a sung-through rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the Passion, the work interprets the psychology of Jesus and other characters, with much of the plot centered on Judas, who is dissatisfied with the direction in which Jesus is steering his disciples. Contemporary attitudes, sensibilities and slang pervade the rock opera's lyrics, and ironic allusions to modern life are scattered throughout the depiction of political events. Stage and film productions accordingly contain many intentional anachronisms.
Initially unable to get backing for a stage production, the composers released it as a concept album, the success of which led to the show's Broadway on-stage debut in 1971. By 1980, the musical had grossed more than $237 million worldwide.[1] Running for over eight years in London between 1972 and 1980, it held the record for longest-running West End musical before it was overtaken by Cats in 1989.
Christianity is not to be in the entertainment field where people admire and sometimes worship stars’
Internet- Satan was once named Lucifer, meaning “day star.” The story of his fall is described in two key Old Testament chapters – Ezekiel 28 and Isaiah 14. He was an angel who was powerful and full of wisdom. Lucifer was a cherub. The Cherubim are a class of angels sitting next to the Seraphim. Together with the Seraphim and the Thrones, the Cherubim make up the highest rank of angels. They are the second closest to God.
This was who Jesus really was- Although He was God in the flesh, Jesus is superior in every way, because He did everything for us to be set free, we are called to serve and emulate our Lord. Stardom should never be in our thoughts, or anything else that exalts itself against the knowledge of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).
We should think and act like Christ. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and has given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11).
Humbly Serving is my most heartfelt desire.
