Prerequisite of Ruling and Reigning with Christ
I pray that yesterday’s message was an eye opener, which prepared the reader for this message. I am not trying to burst anybody’s bubble, but our eternal rewards should be of utmost importance.
Of the forty-two years that I have been born again, I have not seen a church of my affiliation that embraces or operates in all the gifts. Well, I have news for you, our salvation is sealed, and nothing can change that.
HOWEVER! Receiving rewards is a horse of a different color. How do you receive rewards? God has a specific purpose for us, and it is called stewardship- what He has entrusted us to manage. That includes our tithes, offerings, our possessions, our bodies, our gifts.
I have read books about different gifts, but out of the four books that I am familiar with, the descriptions of some of the gifts are erroneous.
Example
Gift of discernment. There is no gift of discernment; it is discerning of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:10). It is supernatural and whoever is operating in it detects spirits. One who is able to discern is spiritually mature. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 12:14).
It is absolutely necessary for every child of God to know what their gift is, and function in them according to their level of faith. As time progresses, like anything else, we should get more mature, which causes greater effectiveness.
Functioning in the gifts that have been distributed by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is particularly important. Whoever is reading this message, I encourage you to learn what your gift is, so you can hear Christ say, “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant.” Depending on how faithful one is, determines how much and what kind of rulership they will have.
The scriptures below are symbolic of the grace gifts being distributed to us, and at the Judgment Seat of Christ, we will either gain or lose rewards.
And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.
Then came the first, saying, Lord, your pound hath gained ten pounds. And he said unto him, Well, you good servant: because you hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities (Luke 19:15-19).
Do you want to be like the servant with one talent, who didn’t make use of what was given him to manage? He did not receive a reward (Luke 19:20-26). When you stand before Christ, you will be one sad person. Even though you are saved, how are you traveling on your journey?
Are you taking the wide road that carnal Christians take (those who act like worldly people), or are you taking the narrow road that those who “sell out” take? Think about the price Christ for you live eternally with Him. We owe our all in fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives.
