Celebration of Two Major Events 1-20-25

Today is an unusual or out of the norm situation that was only heard of one time prior to this one that is to take place.

History:

Since the holiday was officially designated in 1983, only one president was sworn in on Martin Luther King Jr. Day: former President Bill Clinton. For his second term, Clinton's Inauguration took place on Jan. 20, 1997 which also happened to be a year when Martin Luther King Jr. Day was on Jan. 20.

1) Let's not forget all the people the Lord used to pave the way for us to have a better life, despite what we are still going through. Let’s be thankful because it could be worse.

2) Since we have been blessed to make our personal choices; this one may be difficult for some. Let's honor both events, if possible.

Monday (January 20, 2025) marks both Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday honoring the civil rights leader’s legacy, and Inauguration Day, when President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. And, as this rare overlap of events occurs, several important offices and services will be closed.

Let freedom ring!
