Be Grateful for God’s Goodness 8-22-24
This is a follow-up from Jesus feeding the multitude with two little fish and five loaves of bread. The message was indicating how ungrateful some of God’s children are, by focusing on the government and the economy. The Word of God plainly tells us that God owns everything; He is Sovereign over all. Some say: “He rules and super-rules.”
We must not put more focus on the things of this world than we do on God. Yes, even though we are spiritual people, we live in a natural environment and we should be concerned, but God expects us to look to Him. The world does not take care or provide for us, God does (Philippians 4:19). And God uses people and resources to help us, but ultimately, He is our true Source.
Focus - I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1). Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2).
It is certain that God takes care of us. Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (Matthew 6:26)
Be not dismayed, whatever betides, God will take care of us!
We should be praising our God and thanking Him for His goodness! My bothers and sisters “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise be thankful unto Him and bless His name” (Psalm 100:4). Somebody ought to bless the wonderful name of Jesus!
Grace and peace!
