Facing Your Giants, and Overcoming Them (Part 2) 11-18-24

Updated: 10 hours ago

On Friday, November 8, 2024, I received a phone call from the surgeon’s office, and the young lady told me the doctor had written a script for me to take an ultrasound. I’m like, what do you mean? I never saw a script in my patient portal. Then I asked her why an ultrasound necessary when the report from the mammogram was good. I said to her: “My flag just went up.” The young lady said she would talk to the doctor and get back to me later.

After not hearing from the doctor’s office after a few days, I felt as though she would explain everything during the office visit on November 15th. All kinds of things that were going through my mind went back to September 2023 when I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer.

This was so overwhelming because I had mammograms every year for many years. A second mammogram was ordered, as well as an ultrasound. This was why my flag went up when an ultrasound was ordered after getting a good report on the mammogram. Yes, my mind went there! After going through all of that, numerous prayers were sent up, and the Lord sent much encouragement to me through others who said that I had had more work to do.

A couple of times I said that this was an attack from the devil, and this is why. On November 9th I celebrated one year of “Victory” Although I thought this was an attack from the enemy, I posted my “Victory” the day after being told I needed to have an ultrasound, Praise God!

I certainly wany the readers to know that my faith is strong and others have seen and heard my faith. However, as strong as anyone may be, all of us have weak areas. I whether this experience was apprehension or fear, but I confessed it to my prayer partners. Being open and honest was a humbling moment.

Although it was the Lord’s will for me to live in New Jersey again, it was not without trials, tribulations, many afflictions, and health challenges, He delivered me out of them (Psalm 34:19). Our  aging bodies deteriorate because of the cursed environment, yet the Almighty God our Father is our Keeper (Psalm 121).

Below is a list of my health challenges, BUT GOD! Not one of them has stopped me from serving in the capacity He has called me to. These are additions to the PCP and dentist which are routine: orthopedic, ophthalmologist (laser on right eye- upcoming laser on left eye to remove  scar tissue), nephrologist (kidney specialist-stage 3 renal failure, but levels stay within range), podiatrist (foot doctor)- blessed to get special inserts to wear in my free sneakers, endocrinologist (thyroid- stay monitored without meds), oncologist (cancer- numerous blessings resulted from the ugly disease), surgeon for breast cancer (get four bras every year). I was recently diagnosed with scoliosis (starting therapy next week). For every obstacle, a blessing also came to serve God’s purpose and His glory, and for others to be encouraged.

Now that you have read what my challenges are, I don’t complain; the Lord gives me faith and power to keep pressing on (Philippians 3:14). My challenges are minor compared to others who are immobile, blind, and have many other serious health issues. So, I say thank you Lord! I could be in worst condition.

The greatest part of my testimony is: I don’t let the obstacles of my mind overrule my faith, because without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). In addition to that, I speak life words over each situation, because death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21); whatever we speak that what it becomes. I still stand of 1 Peter 2:24- by Jesus' stripes I am healed!

Brothers and sisters, this is my testimony. I face every Giant that comes in my life with the Word of God. And the results are amazing! Thank the Lord for His grace and mercy!

It takes FAITH!
