I am still concentrating on salvation (eternal life). What is an unclean temple? The temple is our physical house that is indwelt by the Holy Spirit who is perfect, therefore those who are born again are not unclean.
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19). Your body belongs to the Lord who has His perfect Spirit living in you, therefore no one has the right to do what they want to with their body.
You’ve been washed- And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. If one is clean, he or she is not dirty. Someone may say this “But you can get dirty again” That’s only in the natural, everything done in the spiritual realm is permanent.
Which temple are you? Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17).
This is a strong warning to anyone who would try to destroy the temple of God (body of Christ), whose foundation was/is built on the apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ Himself being the Chief Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).
This means for those who try to destroy God’s temple (the body of Christ), there will be severe consequences. In other words, God wants His people to be respected by others. The truth of the matter is, when others don’t have regards for God’s people, they don’t have regards (respect) for Him either.
