I tell people this all the time; if you take a picture with me, it’s going on Facebook. This is what happened a week ago. A neighbor and I had come from church and when we got inside the lobby, I asked her to take a picture of me. I ask some people to take pictures so they can be posted with me in different outfits; this is for my ministry. One of the other neighbors and his son came into the lobby from outside.
I positioned everything for the picture to be taken. Well, this Giant stood right behind the chair towering over me; I told him and his son also said she wants to take the picture alone. He did not pay us any attention. By the way, this man teases a lot, but it’s all good. Plus, he has a wonderful lady friend who is secure.
A message came from that photo, and I thought it would be cute to look at little me with this giant towering over me. It reminded me of David, the shepherd boy, and Goliath, the Giant. Like David, I may be small in statue, but the Spirit of God has empowered me for battle.
All it takes is a slingshot and one stone, which I consider to be symbolic of the Word. Goliath may be a giant, but he is like an ant compared to those who are equipped for war. As a mighty woman of God, who has been prepared for war, I cannot be defeated by the enemy.
And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. So, the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field! (1 Samuel 17:42-45).
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (1 Samuel 17:42-45).
I am fully armored, and No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
I have my war clothes on and I know who the enemy is:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might……. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints (Ephesians 6:10, 13-18).
How about you? All of us have giants in our lives, but how many are victorious?
