Even though the word Help only has four letters, it is big and broad. Many people may not know this but every ministry, gift and service fall under the umbrella of helps. This is the reason; everything anyone is doing, whether it is their call, ministry and so on, they are helping someone.
In fact, many restaurants consider their waiters and waitresses servers. We are called to serve others. Jesus is the perfect example: For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”(Mark 10:45). In another scripture Jesus said: And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.” (Mark 9:36).
Do you have a servants heart (attitude), or do you want to sit at the head of the table to be seen by others? I have seen leaders sit at a special table and the were set apart from others. This gave the impression that that were above, more important and better than others. God made us to be helpers/servants to others; equal, but different in our service to Him and people.
If you don’t know what your ministry of gift is, start helping (serving), taking care of the needs of others. Whatever aspect of helps/serving you are involved in, more than likely that is your call, especially if you have a passion for ministering in that particular area of service.
Letters in red are from the internet- The Hebrew translation of "helpmate" is מט עזר1. The original Hebrew word is ezer (עֵזֶר), which means a person who provides needed help and assistance.
Sarah was Abraham’s helper. Sarah, the wife of Abraham in the Bible, was an intelligent and capable woman. She established her mission in life as Abraham's helper, fulfilling God's purposes for him. This decision was not weakness but true biblical submission.
Eve was Adam’s helper and Sarah was Abraham’s helper
Eve nor Sarah was inferior to the mates (spouses); they had different roles. For instance, a man could not give birth to a child, neither could a female do what the male did. If you have a spouse, you are their helper.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you (John14:26).
