We are living in perilous times, and if one is not rooted and grounded on the foundation of Christ, they can be swayed; this compromises their belief. It stems from improper growth, which leads to doubled mindedness.
My brothers count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (James 1:2-8).
This is another reason some children of God do not grow:
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
that we should no longer be children, tossed to and from and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love (Ephesians 4:11-16).
When the church is in line with the Word of God, principles are taught: In the Bible, principles refer to divine guidelines, statutes, and instructions that God has set forth for righteous living1. While specific passages may apply to the particular situation of the biblical audience, the theological principles revealed in those texts are applicable to all of God’s people at all times. Understanding and applying these principles is essential for gaining wisdom from scripture.
There is no short-cutting when it comes to the Word of God. When there is a lack of understanding, there is no growth. But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). When this happens, God is glorified.
This does not mean that the person/s will lose their salvation, this means a loss of rewards.
Explanation- If a person remains in a baby stay (immature), they don’t grow, which could mean several things. For instance, not studying the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15). When we were in school, going to the next grade depended on how good our grades were. When there is no proper teaching or principles taught, one’s growth is stunted.
If there is a lack of understanding, there is no growth. But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). When this happens, God is glorified. Hold tight with all your might! Keep holding on to the Word of God! Don’t give up or give in, and please do not compromise!
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away (Matthew 24:35). The Word is God and He (the Word) will never fail us.
