For several days, I kept going back and forth to Luke 16:8, and I was not going to stop studying until there was another source that related and connected Biblically to what my view was.
Although I knew what Jesus meant about the unjust steward, and how shrewd he was by comparing him with the children of light (God’s children). Yet, I felt there had to be a principle that compared with my message.
So, the master commended the unjust [dishonest] steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light. I wondered how a principle could be used to connect with AI and how resourceful the information is.
I kept on praying and asking the Holy Spirit to show me if there was a connection somewhere that could be used. I did not stop searching until I came across this scholar’s footnote.
John McArthur- ESV study Bible: Christ did not commend the man’s dishonesty; He pointedly called him “dishonest” He also used him as an illustration to show that the most wicked sons of the world are shrewd enough to provide for themselves against coming evil. Believers are to be more shrewd, because they are concerned with eternal matters, not just earthly ones.
AI - Look at how much the world knows, opposed to some of God’s sons and daughters
Example: The dishonest steward in the parable is praised for his shrewdness in using his employer's resources to secure his future, even though his methods are not ethical.
Lesson: Jesus is not advocating for unethical behavior but rather highlighting the importance of being wise and resourceful in managing resources, even in the context of spiritual matters.
Application: This passage can be interpreted as a call for Christians to be as diligent and resourceful in their spiritual lives as the world is in its worldly pursuits.
Bottom line is this, how diligent are the children of God in getting spiritual resources (studying the Word of God) to be more effective in ministry and ministry?
I am doing whatever possible to help set the captives free; breaking the chains of ignorance.
