“Some Leaders Who were High-Minded” 1-23-25

Betty A. Burnett

Nebuchadnezzar - That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”

At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and splendor returned to me. My counselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.  Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride, He is able to put down.

The truth is Theos - In the New Testament, "Theos" primarily refers to the one true God, the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, as revealed in the Christian faith. It is used to denote the divine nature and attributes of God, including His omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence.

With that being true, aren’t all of the children of God who study His Word, theologians? About this seminary thing where people get doctorate degrees, what those who have their knowledge straight from thee Word and are taught principles to help people grow spiritually? One must be Careful how they sling words out there; it could have an appearance of being superior.

I am not saying it’s wrong to attend schools of Bible schools and so on, what I am saying is if anyone is seeking for those titles with the wrong motives, as to be put on a pedestal by people, which is pride!

I will caution those who are seeking higher learning to be careful who your instructors are. I have not been to seminary, just through ministerial and ordination classes to get the foundational elements to help me in ministry.

Being around other leaders opened my eyes to what is taught in these Biblical schools, and it was told that there unsaved people teaching biblical classes. How can an unsaved person understand the Bible?

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).

After saying all that, the bottom line is this: The Spirit may lead you to go to school of higher Biblical learning, but there is a reason for it. Out of almost forty-three years of walking with the Lord, I have been in eight different churches. This is the reason: the Lord had me to experience a lot because of the grace (anointed) call on my life. This is different from church hopping. God’s Truth will set us Free!
