Are you still walking in darkness?

Should Christians Celebrate “Halloween” 10-30-24

Way back in the day, my mother allowed us to go “trick or treating” which was mainly safe and considered to be innocent. It was fun to dress up in our “Halloween” garb. Most people did not know history, nor how evil it was. We were a morally upright family and completely ignorant of the devil being the source of what took place on that particular day. Nor did we know that it was considered the highest satanic day of the year.

With all the information I have researched for many years, I finally realized that the best source is the Word of God. If any holiday is not in line with the Word, we should not be partakers. At first it was a struggle to come up with something that would be beneficial to the readers and this is what came to me, and it was this simple. What are we commanded to do?

Remember on yesterday when Jesus commanded His disciples how to live Christlike. I only named a few but it only takes one to come up with the right answer. Of course, it is best to have more than one verse for conformation.

Let’s look at this realistically. Why does everything pertaining Halloween look so evil and scary.

Notice that the trick or treating usually happened at night – A lot can happen when it’s dark! Remember this; Jesus came into a dark world to save sinners, but sin is still abounding, therefore, much darkness still exists. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness (John 12:48). And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [comprehend it (John 1:5).

This is what the Word of God tells us to do. Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?  What agreement has the temple of God with idols?.... Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. (2 Corinthians 6:14b-17b).

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them (Ephesians 5:11).

I am sharing what the Word of God says; hopefully, Christians who are involved in celebrating Halloween will take heed to the message. I am not writing about alternatives, this is about what Halloween stands for.
