No One is Equal to Christ, But Christ is Equal to God Almighty 9-30-24
Jesus was called the Son of God because He came in the flesh; still He was one-hundred percent God and one-hundred percent human- Baffling, mind boggling, huh? That’s why we must trust God’s Word - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
The Humbled and Exalted Christ
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-8).
No one is equal to Christ! Watch the cult that says Christ and Lucifer are brothers. They misunderstood that everything was made by Jesus (Colossians 1:216). That is where deception comes in.
God initiated the plan-Let us Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness (Genesis 1:26a), Jesus carried it out: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him (Colossians 1:16-19), and the Holy Spirit is the power by which everything happens. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters (Genesis 1:2).
Let’s compare Moses with Jesus.
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (John 1:17).
Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses (Hebrews 13:38-39).
Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God's house as a Son. And we are His house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope (Hebrews 3:5-6).
And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
And Peter said to Jesus, Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah. [they were ignorantly equaling Moses and Elijah with Jesus].
He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified. But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” [that’s grace; the letter of the law kills]. And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only (Matthew 17:1-8).
A message of warning but also to encourage you to keep your eyes on Jesus, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 2:2a).
12:2a). Let the Word of God be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105)!
FYI - Jesus is called The everlasting Father (Isaiah 9:6). This means He is the Father of salvation; Jesus carried out the plan of salvation.
