Comforting and Strengthening Each Other 8-30-24
Since Christ is not physically on the earth, we are His body, and He wants us to encourage (lean) on one another. Although our Ultimate Helper is the Lord (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), our help comes from Him. However, because we are in a natural (physical) environment, we can see, and touch each other. How else would we be able to minister to our brothers and sisters? We need others physically and spiritually.
I love this verse in old song that goes like this:
I need you. You need me. We're all a part of God's body.
Below are a few scriptures to encourage us to strengthen one another.
We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves (Romans 15:1).
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves (Romans 15:7).
Greet one another with a holy kiss.]The churches of Christ greet you (Romans 16:16).
Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you (2 Corinthians 13:11).
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God (1 Thessalonians 15:11).
Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you (2 Corinthians 13:11).
Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29).
We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone (1 Thessalonians 5:14).
And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and do good deeds not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth (1 John 3:18).
Let's lean on each other!
