Yesterday, the message was pertaining to what the “Outer Darkness” meant. Today, there are two parables that will be used to share about outer darkness and the door being shut.

The wedding feast

Therefore, go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.  So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.

So, he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:10-13). I will reemphasize, Jesus said those who belonged to Him would never perish (John 10:28). Nobody should ever be foolish enough to think they pluck themselves out God’s hands.

The servant was speechless because he did not have an excuse for not fulfilling God’s purpose. When the Lord calls us, He also equips us the grace/anointing to fulfill His purpose for our lives.

The five foolish bridesmaids

Then all the bridesmaids woke up and got their lamps ready. The foolish ones said to the wise ones, give us some of your oil. Our lamps are going out. No, they replied. There may not be enough for all of us. Instead, go to those who sell oil. Buy some for yourselves. So, they went to buy the oil. But while they were on their way, the groom arrived. The bridesmaids who were ready went in with him to the wedding dinner. Then the door was shut.

Later, the other bridesmaids also came. ‘Sir! Sir!’ they said. ‘Open the door for us! TOO LATE! Note: Each of us a personal relationship with Christ and our own ministry (assignment). We cannot give anyone what was given to us; it can only be suitable for ourselves.

But he replied, ‘What I’m about to tell you is true.” I don’t know you. So, keep watch. You do not know the day or the hour that the groom will come (Matthew 25:7-13).

Open what door? The King could only mean, the door to rulership in the kingdom. Remember all the bridesmaids were at the Judgment seat of Christ! What did the King mean by “I never knew you” He never knew their works, because Christ only accepts what we are called to do; not what we do on our own.

If they didn’t fulfill their call on earth, they cannot rule in the eternal kingdom, although they will be there, praise the Lord! When they see Jesus and the nailed scarred hands and all He went through to give them eternal life, there will be weeping and gnashing (gritting/grinding) of teeth.

But that will only be at the initial meeting with Jesus. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away (Revelation 21:4). Since heaven will be a perfect place for perfect people, what do tears mean? Shame! Because they were not faithful. Always look at it this way, what does and what doesn’t make sense?

This is what we should be doing: Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints Revelation 19:7-8).
